Hey everyone, I’m looking to get into a CT and have a couple questions. This would be my first Tesla and first EV.

I’m looking at low mileage trucks on the used market since I don’t qualify for the rebate and I won’t buy a new one until the rebate is gone.
All of the used trucks local to me have the white interior trim, which I am not a fan of.

Has anyone here swapped the white door panel pieces to tactical grey? Is it a pain? I’ve seen them for sale on eBay but I’m also wondering if Tesla will sell them?
Sorry if this question has already been posted, I did a search and didn’t see anything.
Looking forward to getting into a CT soon!

They are probably interchangeable, but you can get the VIN number and check the parts on Teslas park catalog.

Otherwise, you would probably be able to get your nearest service center to order the replacement parts for you. Stop by and tell them what you are trying to do and ask if it would be possible.

I was looking on the parts catalog and found the grey trim pieces but the price was zero.
You’re right I’ll just call service and see if they will sell.

I was hoping someone has already done this so I can see how much work is involved, esp with the dash piece.

This guy changed it out for orange: . I am not a fan of that color but hey, it can be done. He had a YouTube on it also so you can see the process, didn't seem easy to me.

I own an independent EV repair shop and I can order things directly from Tesla. The unfortunate thing is that I can't have them shipped directly to you, the come to me and I would need to reship them.

Having some experience with the white and the grey, if you are on the fence about the white run.
If you love white take it, but the grey is the way to go by far if you are leaning that way.
The panels pop off fairly easily, look on youtube for people installing heads up displays etc, think the interior swap parts cost about $1,500 but you may find someone that wants to trade for white.

Good to know! If Tesla won’t sell to me at least it’s an option! Thanks

I’m definitely not a fan of the white. I’m not entirely sure what Tesla was thinking putting white in the CT. It looks very out of place.

Tesla was working on opening up the online parts catalogue so anyone with a Tesla account could mail-order parts (or have them sent to the local Service Center).

Anyone know the status of that effort?

I've heard from several people that have been able to do that, but keep in mind that some parts are restricted to 3rd party shops or body shops.

I thought I was "settling" for the gray because I couldn't justify the cost of ordering the CT with the white trim.
But then Tesla offered me a test drive of a CT with the gray interior and I was immediately sold on it.
I saw someone else's FS CT in person and boy was I disappointed in the white trim. Just opinion.

I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. I admit I thought it was "odd" for a truck, but after a year I have come to really like it. It cleans dead simple so it's not a dirty eyesore.

I have swapped the trim from white to grey. No issues. You do have to take it into service after to have them re-sync the led light strip in the panels. That is all, it is a service computer thing to do that part.
