I literally just did that. Signed up for the promo... went into the app and immediately cancelled within a minute. FSD subscription active till May 7 2026.

I'm a CB FS owner. I'm glad Tesla is doing this. The Cybertruck platform needs more road data. Data is the gold/platinum/diamonds of the FSD world. We need more "miners".

I don't feel ripped off. I have what I paid for. And my truck gets better with every update. I can't think of another vehicle I owned that would improve from the original builder adding things after initial purchase.

I believe in the mission.

Early Tesla owners who went all-in and bought FSD with their original cars weren't made whole for several years.

So how does it work? Pay for 1 Month, cancel during that time and get 11 months free?
I did that. Appears that is what happened. But I don't think they even charged me for the first month, at least not yet. I signed up and cancelled within 5 minutes.

The real ripoff is that non FS and non FSD customers aren’t getting autosteer, which is essentially autopilot. It’s literally in the purchase agreement. I was told by a Tesla employee personally that autosteer just hadn’t been released yet, but was coming. What a load of BS.

I have used FSD for maybe 3% of the 11k miles I have on my truck. If Tesla needs people to do more real life testing to make FSD better, give me free supercharging for life under the condition I used FSD at least 50% of the time and I'll do it. Otherwise I'm the guy who's helping more new drivers get free FSD, cause I'm not contributing to Tesla right now.

I took delivery of a 2-motor standard ‘25 CT the first week of March. Just received the email last night and signed up. I had already signed up for FSD $99/mo program but hadn’t been charged yet. Now it’s good through June 2026.
I understand earlier buyers being butt-hurt given the premium price paid for FSD in the Foundation model. But those who paid the separate $8k permanent fee were really the only ones screwed here - and even there got what they paid for. It’s all part of the Tesla experience. I bought one of the first Model S deliveries in 2012 and have had six teslas. Every time something like this happened. Welcome to the family.

The real deal here is communal - Tesla needs to move FSD forward and is hampered by the user count being so low. This is a way to improve the results for every CT owner, is good for everyone who owns one. None of us is financially damaged by this situation, and neither we nor Tesla could have anticipated it being this way when earlier purchasers bought theirs, so there’s really no case that Tesla acted wrongly here.

I think once you stop subscribing payment your year begins
If you are already subscribed, your next renewal date starts the 1 year trial.

So for example, mine was set to renew in a few days, but that date will now be the start of the 1 year for free.

I received an email last night with an offer from Tesla for 1 free year of FSD. I’ve had my Cybertruck since Nov. 2024 and have paid for the FSD subscription. I’m thinking Tesla needs more road data for the Cybertruck FSD and is using this offer to catalyze more miles logged and needed.
it’s great that it’ll be free for a year. Weirdly, it’s asking me to subscribe again to take advantage of the offer. If I’m already subscribed, I don’t understand why they just don’t activate the offer?

As a
n FSD buyer, I have no problem with this offer. We need the best FSD version and driver miles are required to train it. This is the lowest cost way for TESLA to accumulate these training miles . Way to think out of the box TESLA!!

So you are upset that you get 1 year free access to a service that is drastically underpriced at $99 a month? If you actually read your purchase agreement, they include language like "future features/availability may change".

Yup to me this screams that CT FSD is nowhere close to where it needs to be and they need more data, I wouldn't be surprised if they extended free FSD to quarterly etc.
I agree with FSD not close to where it needs to be. I drive my CT on FSD a lot. Potholes, no matter size is completely ignored. Sharp turns on sidewalks that can damage rims and tires. Parking sideways after destination is completed... there are many concerns that need to be addressed. In the meantime let me enjoy FSD for free for another year?.
