the reason I asked is after the last update v13.2.9 my CT started hugging the left lane. On the express way it would even ride the rumble strips.

Once restarted or rebooted it stopped. It's almost pperfect ?

Gonna give this a try. Just noticed yesterday that the latest update had my CT doing the same thing. Never was much of an issue for me before that despite others having that issue on earlier versions.

I am fully convinced that FSD development is a huge series of A/B testing with live crash dummies. Don’t get me wrong! I use FSD >90% but…I get a lot of Tesla loaner vehicles because of multiple SC visits for my AWD. This week was a FS CB. It is on 13.2.8 like mine. But this CB was bat-shit crazy. The Model Y’s all seem to FSD the same. But CT’s are erratic. I had at least 2 safety take over’s in the short time I had the CB.

example:pulling left into oncoming traffic, it usually can just pull back to the right when traffic is coming RIGHT AT IT, but because it was a double left it got indecisive and twitched there like a sitting duck. It tried to pull out into traffic (going right no less)from a Stop sign when it wasn’t clear.

I too may just do a restart when they start acting so erratic!

So do we mean the two finger salute or powering off from the safety menu or is that the same thing?

Soft reset is two fingers. Hard reset is power off.

From Grok:
Effectiveness for FSD issues:

• A hard reset is more effective than a soft reset for persistent FSD issues, such as consistent off-center visualization or lane-centering problems that don’t resolve after a soft reset. It resets the entire FSD system, which can clear stuck processes or memory errors affecting lane detection or visualization.

• Tesla forums note that hard resets have resolved issues like auxiliary power faults or software-related glitches that soft resets couldn’t fix, though results vary for FSD-specific problems.

• However, if the off-center issue is due to misaligned or uncalibrated cameras, a hard reset alone may not solve it, as the cameras need recalibration to properly detect lane markings.

After 135k+ miles on my 17MS, rebooting / hard restarting it has fixed so many “concerns” over the years. If it didn’t fix the concern, an OTA fixed it in time.
After 18k+ miles on 24CT, only have needed to restart it once. (Much better performance than 2017 over the course of the first year, of course it should be.)

All I want FSD to do at this point is drive the speed I set. :)
I’d LOVE to use “regular cruise control” when FSD isn’t functioning for one reason or another.

Yes. I have done it many times without issue.
As people have already pointed out, two different methods.
Press and hold both steering wheel buttons until screen powers off then reboots or turn off the truck from the “safety” menu and then allow it to restart with the brake pedal.
Apparently this is a “soft” vs “hard” reset. Not sure what that means but that is what I have been told.

You can change autopilot’s setting down to TACC while driving. To switch it back to FSD you have to stop. I’ve been trying FSD with most updates but it will not even drive the speed I set with no other vehicles around me so I switch back down to TACC. I’m not going to use FSD if it will not keep the speed I set.

Hard reset is disconnecting the 12V supply, both + and - terminals, for 5-10 minutes to purge any phantom current living in the system and reconnecting.

So everything was near perfection until the 13.2.9 update, now my CT is back hugging the the left of the lane again. Rebooting didn't work this time. I've even recalibrate the cameras, big no go!
