CONVERSED with GROK in my CT. Here’s how:

STEPS TO ENABLE AI
1. Start the GROK app on your iphone.
2. On the iPhone, press “VOICE MODE”

The CT automatically pops a voice call window as if you’re making a phone call with GROK. It has an open microphone.

Ask it any question. It replied to me in a female voice. It’s playful if you try to insult it. Like: Are you my AI girlfriend? LOL

The only negative is that the microphone button does not function for normal CT voice commands.

4. Press the red ”Hang Up” button for GROK to return to normal CT microphone command mode.

GROK kept me company and helped pass the time during a 30 minute traffic jam.

Found the same when using chat GPT in the parking lot the other day. It's basically just using your Bluetooth audio. It was like being on a phone call in that it showed my number and the hang up button on the screen.

what would work better with AI in general?
I'm just trying to picture what I’d be doing while driving that I think chatGPT or similar would be useful for and not immediately seeing it like everyone seems to be.

Yeah I have used ChatGPT voice in the past to get a destination charger at a hotel. I just wish for the world where we have it all fully integrated but so much easier than trying to locate one via manual search. And at least it gives you a link to knock it out for now.

I dont think AIs are there yet, but most things I would love AI to do have nothing to do with a car. Riding in a car just just free time to use AI.

Things I would want from a AI in a car:

• "AI take my car to the charger and carwash, then have it pick me up at the store at 3pm"
• "AI schedule and take my car to maintenance and tire replacement every 12 months"
• "AI my steering feels loose, can you compare the steering input to my GPS tracking to see if there is an issue"
• "AI drive past my X's house every night at 2am and honk your horn"

We were supposed to get Grok integration into Teslas early this year, think 6/17 is no longer "early" but hopefully the next update.

It is much needed as the tesla voice commands are clunky and require you to memorize a list of 100 correct key phrases. Grok integration will hopefully fix this.

Way more important, Teslas are falling behind other vehicles with some decent tech built into them. Full Grok integration in Tesla can help spring Tesla back ahead of the pack. Surprised it was not live in Teslas months ago.
