I was ready looking forward to getting the lightbar installed this morning, but when. I got to the service center, the advisor said they could install it today, but Tesla is going to be introducing a 'vision bracket system' to install the lightbar without the adhesive on the windsheild. He said it would be completely removable..

There was no time frame, but I still said I was OK waiting. Has anyone else heard about it?

People have been reporting that there is going to be a V2 for almost a year. I’m unaware of no one else saying that they were told upon installation day that they weren’t going to get the install because of it.

Others have been told at the SC that they didn’t have them and they weren’t going to get them until V2. This is inconsistent with people who have had them installed within the last several days and are apparently scheduled to have them revised.

If you were to believe these various reports, Tesla has all over the place with this, but no one has ever seen a V2 light bar with new mounting hardware.

There was an updated protocol and prep procedure which is now being used. That is the only verified change that has been made by Tesla to install installation of the OEM light bar.

I am unaware of anybody else being turned away based on the eminent release of a new version of the OEM light bar and I have no reason to doubt your account.

So, who knows? If it’s not true, then turning you away would be egregious and why would someone at the SC lie to you?

But then, this was Friday! https://www.cybertruckownersclub.co...la-service-center-and-it-is-misaligned.43886/

And at the end of the thread you’ll see that they told him that they’re going to fix it. Nothing about a “new process” and therefore they can’t do it.

It’s kind of crazy!

Doesn’t sound like he was turned away. He was given the option of getting it glued on today or waiting for a real mounting kit. He chose to wait, which is hands down the best choice based on what we’ve seen on here with Lightbars flying off. Patience pays off.

Thanks. I misread it. I thought he said they “couldn’t” install it. This makes more sense.

I’m impatient, I wouldn’t have waited. But, I don’t disagree with your analysis.

I probably wouldn’t have either if I got a FS. I’d take what they offered at the time and get the V2 if and when I needed it. My bank account dictated I wait for a NFS so I don’t have the headache now ?

Tesla Cybertruck Soo. Finally got my appointment to have my lightbar installed.. IMG_7246

I just received this message today on my Tesla app about them waiting on the correct glue to arrive. I didn’t even request to have my lightbar installed yet. I’m waiting a bit longer until they iron out all the details. The process needs a bit more tuning in my opinion.

I’m the lucky one that had the misaligned light bar installed. I just messaged my service center about a new light bar version, which is in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They said they are unaware of any new version of the light bar but that they would look into it. My appointment to have my light bar reinstalled is not till the end of July so the SC said that if they find out about an update, they will let me know prior to my appointment. If I hear anything, I will let everybody know.
