Will the range test also include towing a trailer?
Yep! The flat panel rack should have better efficiency since there are no molle holes on the sides.

Here are the final numbers from the CA to UT round trip with the larger 6x12 trailer in Beast Mode
Forgot to share the final numbers.
From California to Utah with elevation gain: 610.2 Wh/mi.
From Utah back to California: 585.7 Wh/mi.
That brings the total average to 597.5 Wh/mi over 1,671.5 miles

When are you expecting the mole panel full rack to start shipping again?
Actually, we’ve been shipping weekly since two weeks ago for our pre-orders. If you place a $100 pre-order now, we’ll reach out to finalize your order by early August and aim to have it delivered by late August. Let us know if you have any questions. We are here to help!

Given your wide range of wh/mi depending on conditions, my take from this is that a tiny trailer and racks requires planning about 700 wh/mi for range purposes. My 9,500-lb boat trailer (12' tall) averaged 1,250 wh/mi on a recent 200-mile trip. That's real towing, and I will be charging every 100 miles or less on the trip from Maryland to south Florida in November. Really missing the promised range extender.
Just saw this!

In the future, if we can get solid state battery range extenders with higher energy density, around 1000 Wh per liter, we could fit the same 50 kWh into just 50 liters. That same 78 liter space could hold up to 78 kWh. That means about 56 percent more energy without taking up any extra bed space?

With $QS up 77% since yesterday, it got me thinking about range extenders for the Cybertruck. Tesla’s discontinued range extender used 4680 cells to deliver 47-50 kWh in about 78 liters of space. Now, QuantumScape’s solid-state batteries, with around 1,000 Wh per liter, could fit the same 50 kWh in just 50 liters - or pack up to 78 kWh in that same 78-liter space.

That means about 56% more energy without taking up extra bed space. If this tech hits mass production at a reasonable cost, it could be a game changer for extending range without sacrificing cargo room. Would love to hear your thoughts!

For comparison, the other manufacturer only traveled 38.4 miles in 44 minutes, with an average speed of 52.36 mph, yet used that to claim their efficiency.
The Out of Spec range test when the truck was recently released was not representative of any credible test I've seen. And Kyle didn't mention that the temperature dropped into the 30's during the test, I had to glimpse that on the video of the center screen. Inexplicably, he decided to do the test in the middle of a cold night. Like the wee hours of the morning. That's pretty cold for a range test to be meaningful when comparing to others.

Kyle often shows Tesla products in an unfavorable light (even though he knows it's important to his credibility that he appear impartial). He thinks he is an EV bigwig and that Tesla doesn't give him enough respect. He's probably also butt-hurt that he missed out on the wild appreciation of Tesla stock (and he will probably miss out on the next wild run too).

If you haven't done the math, AT tires = rated range of 318 miles = 123/0.3867 or said differently 386.7 watts per mile. (Probably sea level, flat, 15 degrees Celsius, no wind, clean car, no lunar eclipse.)
