I am not an electronics DIY person, but I'd really love to have a KITT scanner on my CT. I don't mean existing light strip in the front during the light show. I mean an authentic 8-piece red or amber scanner with the same trailing effect as in the first TV series. I want to put it on the plastic trim, below the frunk.

Do you know any ready made solution or something that does not require lots of advanced hacking? I've found very old websites that no longer deliver.

With a little bit of research, shouldn’t be too hard to program an Arduino and LED strips.

That said, you did mention you’re not an electronics DIYer. So, here is an option…

There is options on Amazon. I bought one for my 17MS, but that option is for a 12v system.
You’ll have to get separate step down for it.

If you look on YouTube for Model 3 Knight Rider, that source may assist you going forward to possible options.

PSA: Of course with it being a red light, it’s generally illegal to have it turned on while on a public road.

That's good to know, thanks. Now I understand why were there amber alternatives... Ideally I want to be able to change the color from an app or with a setting or something like that.

I hooked this up to a 9 volt battery and it works great...

Thanks! It looks pretty good!

It’s always good to stay up to date with software updates for your Crosstrek Limited, as they can improve everything from performance to safety features. Software updates help maintain vehicle reliability and ensure you're getting the most out of your car’s technology. For anyone managing updates across multiple vehicles or tracking their car’s performance, platforms like free scanner app https://scanner.biz/reviews/best-free-scanner-apps/ can help you stay organized by keeping track of update schedules, service histories, and performance diagnostics in one place.
Thanks for information!
