See that lump in your fourth photo? thats one of your lift points. its stamped "lift point". the matching ones may be beneath the metal plates. they are about 20" inboard from the tires, front and back

I am geniunely curious why so many people are putting running boards on CTs when we have entry mode?

I would guess just for old-fashioned looks? But if they retract out of view, then not for that...
🤔

My wife is under 5' and never gives entry a chance to lower before hopping out.

I really get this response.
Having same issue with ambient light sunshade. Currently waiting on new controller and harness. 🤞hope it fixes it.
They sent the wrong wiring harness and refuse to acknowledge it. Very frustrating.

My 80 year old in-laws live with me. It helps to get them in and out of the truck, but I don't want them there all the time, so I would rather they retract. Also, retractable steps are lower down than no retractible making it easier to get in as well. And yes, I also have it lowered. Few steps as possible for an 80+ year old.

with my boards one of the brackets mounted directly to the lift point. I see that yours's have a big metal plate with the motor on it. if that covers the lift point, it would be the same thing.

I think the front is under the plate, but can be used if the steps are out.

I think the plate mounted over the one mount would not be an issue. You could probably lift on the bracket if it is stable and thick enough. The real issue I see is having the running boards retracted. You really need to be able to open them away from the bottom of the truck to put on a lift. Need a way to open them without keeping the doors open.
