I'm kinda interested in this. However doesn't look like I even have the option in the app. Who is seeing this in theirs? (Especially FS owners?)

NEWS: Tesla has introduced a new monthly Wheel and Tire Protection subscription plan in the U.S.

Monthly Subscription Prices:

• Model 3 (non-performance): $12
• Model 3 Performance: $16
• Model Y (non-performance): $16
• Model Y Performance: $20
• Model S (non-performance): $20
• Model S Plaid: $25
• Model X (non-performance): $20
• Model X Plaid: $25
• Cybertruck: $20

The Wheel and Tire Protection Plan is for when an unforeseen incident occurs, from road hazards such as potholes and debris to unexpected punctures.

What Is Covered:
• Tire Repair: Unlimited repairs for damage caused by typical road hazards
• Wheel or Tire Replacement: $25 deductible per replacement

Note: The plan coverage starts the same day you subscribe to the plan and continues until you cancel for up to 24 months. The plan does not cover cosmetic damages, theft, vandalism, tires below 4/32" tread or previous damages that predates the purchase date of the plan.

You can subscribe to the Wheel and Tire Protection Plan within 30 days of purchasing an eligible, new Tesla vehicle, purchasing four tires in service or completing a complimentary inspection. To subscribe, follow these steps: Open the Tesla app. Tap ‘Upgrades’ > ‘Service Plan’ > ‘Wheel and Tire Protection.’

Small window of coverage, IMO, only down to 4/32. Typical nail repairs cost less than the $25 deductible at tire places. So this really only holds value of the tire has to be replaced within the limited coverage window. Plus have to start within 30 days of purchase. It's a roll of the dice. I'll take my chances.

Seems like a rip off. I think it is $15/tire at Discount Tire. No monthly recurring charge.

I'm waiting for the windshield coverage to pop up.
I found this when I was waiting for my windshield tint:

transparentwarranty.com

I have replaced my windshield twice in 8 months. Each time was over $2k plus the $1000 tint replacement. The first time was my fault. The second time was a huge impact from something like a rock but I have no idea how it got there.

I haven't signed up with transparent warranty but I'm considering it. Anyone have any experience with claims with them?

and it used to be $50/tire or $75/tire for the entire year (Model Y) so they have dramatically increased the prices.

Foundation series holder and no option within my app but like others have said discount tire certs are a way better option. Or put it in some kind of stock or crypto and then cash out if there’s an emergency.

Discount tire doesn’t send roadside service to you in your spareless car when something happens who is also equipped with a replacement Tesla wheel.
Neither does any other program I know of.
Even with AAA the car has to be towed and out of commission

Your aware of Tesla roadside assistance is included with vehicle warranty right…

If you experience a flat tire, you can contact Tesla Roadside Assistance, and they will arrange to have your vehicle towed to the nearest Tesla service center or, in some locations, send a mobile service technician to your location and my understanding is they will give you a spare.

Yes. But if you have this plan, they will either initially or eventually also bring you back an either replaced and/or repaired tire to wherever you are and put it back on your car while you go about your business.
they have done that for me before and the experience was seamless. My workday and everything I had to do on a very busy day continued unimpeded.
Unfortunately it cost me about $500 because it was a sidewall puncture. Would have been free with this insurance

Yeah I went discount tire the first week I took delivery and bought “tire certs” this covers me for road hazard repairs like nails screw bits. I also have aaa is case I do breakdown.

I then can leverage teslas roadside assistance and my understanding is they can bring you a spare and throw your damaged tire in vehicle. You then just need to return the snare within a certain time.

hopefully these three combined protect me from any oops situations. 🙏🤞🏼
