Im sure this has been discussed ad nauseum, but has anyone slept in the vault? I did it about a month ago and had concerns. First I worried about asphyxiation, probably irrational, so I open the cover a bit and my feet got cold.... and I nightmared about raccoons playing with my feet. Plus it was both hot and cold. I loved how dark it was in the vault and if u sleep cross wise it's long enough. So here is the question, has anyone made a small vent fan or do I need to do it. Perhaps add a peltier so could add heat or cool. Think there should be enough gap at tailgate to vent and could plug in a device. Does anyone want this?

A device like the Ecoflow wave 2 or 3 or
Take five ac would be ideal for this I think.
You just have to fashion a foam or other material piece that’s much longer than a standard window for the vent. Something the length of the tailgate that can be wedged between it and the tonneau.

Never have done it but I keep seeing these vent fans that are for side windows to keep the car cool. Rather than keep the cover open a bit you could do something similar and plug into the outlets. They make USB fans for electronic enclosures you could power with a phone charger. I used these for a server rack and they are low volume but good enough for air changeover. If it rains though it could be a problem. The vault is definitely not air tight. Just get a CO2 detector and that will keep you safe.

Didn't somebody make or sell a back window replacement that is removable or slides open? I remember seeing something about it. Couldn't you just add that so you can use the trucks AC/Heat for temp and air exchange. It'll solve the feet eating raccoon issue.

In concept it seems very inefficient to me to keep the car in camp mode and use a climate control engineered for the cabin volume to cool or heat a non-insulated vault for an entire night through that little window.
There is a plug back there that can be used to run a purpose built system.

But it works if you sleep at a Supercharger, like I did last night.😆

It is possible to drill holes in tempered glass, but its very risky. Make a few the same size as some rubber plugs and you can get AC from the cabin.

Or just remove the rear glass and replace it with a water resistant piece of plywood, much cheaper than the Breezer window. You can paint is black and no one would even know it was wood.
Edit: nevermind, just watched a video on how to remove the rear glass, its no minor undertaking.
