Since we're on the topic of Beast mode, does anyone know if driving around in different modes use more power? Like if I were to drive around with the truck on Beast mode all the time but drove the same way I normally do does the truck use more power to "be ready" so to say? I use chill mode almost exclusively.

I have no idea. My truck has only ever been in beast mode since the day I took delivery. You’re saying there’s other modes? 🤣

So I have no proof whatsoever, but I wouldn’t think so. The lower modes are just there to assist you in being efficient. If you simulate chill mode while in beast mode, you should be pulling exactly the same power. Kind of like speed limit mode. Whether you keep it floored and maxed out at 85 or just go 85 when you could go faster, should be the same Wh/mi.

No idea what the beast launch feels like, but this dang twuck has already ruined every other car for me by comparison so I really don't need it to dunk even harder on em.

One pedantic point of superiority for AWD: the rear motor is permanent magnet so on the whole we're driving RWD->AWD where as the Beast is FWD->AWD . This is a critical blow to the Beast and cannot be recovered from. /sarcasm off

Regardless, as others have pointed out, the CT is in another league. After watching the Monroe teardowns, as an engineer, I was sold. This level of bleeding edge tech reminds me of how people look back on the S-class pushing innovation in the 80's/90's.

Picture all your blood and guts being flung to the back of your body and your vision going blurry for a quick second.

Isn't FWD actually better for things like traction and daily driving? I think RWD is better for things like acceleration - which in this case is a moot point, the Beast takes it hands down.

FWD is an affront to gawd and the sole reason that Jesus hasn't returned 😛

Never in my life did I think I would spend this much on a ridiculously depreciating asset like this.

I also never expected to come to the conclusion that they are highly under valued... and the potential for this platform is just getting started.
Same, and same.

I bought the version that suited my needs the best, without any regard for cost. The equation was simple: I don't need faster than 4 second 0-60 acceleration, we already have two Model 3 Performance and very seldom do we even desire that kind of tire scrubbing thrust, let alone even desire it (beyond an occasional "wow" moment).

So, if money was no object, why didn't I just get the Cyberbeast? At first it was a concern that choosing the Beast could delay my delivery (I got mine in early April 2024). But the more I thought about it, the more I realized the AWD fit my needs better. I did like the RWD nature of the AWD better, but that is a somewhat minor consideration. What nailed it for me, was the 230 fewer lbs. up front. That reduces payload capacity by close to 10% of the total 2500 lbs. and it's weight that is always with you, even when not loaded to the full GVWR. I know from having two RWD Model 3's and two Performance Model 3's, that the RWD actually has a lighter, more nimble feeling in parking lots and in the corners. It just puts a bigger smile on my face and driving dynamics matter to me, even in a truck.

Sure, I would be tickled with either, they are both stupendously good trucks, but I feel like I need to explain something to the three or four Beast advocates I see acting illogical, like it's the only rational choice for everyone, unless they simply can't swing the financial cost of the Beast. I'm in the wealthiest 1% of all Americans, I could buy 100 Beasts while still being in the wealthiest 1%. It wouldn't affect my lifestyle at all. The price really didn't matter to me, I just wanted the truck that suited me the best.

I'm often off-road where a lighter weight is a real advantage. Sure, another 230 lbs. wouldn't make or break anything (except in the most marginal edge case), but I just like the lighter feeling (and I can never use all the power of the AWD off-road, there isn't enough traction anyway). The Beast would have zero advantage and a very real disadvantage off-road, including slightly less range for overlanding, not that I've done any off-road trips extended enough to be considered "overlanding, but still, I am off on trails on a regular basis. If I had a convenient place to park and charge two Cybertrucks, I would buy a Beast tomorrow, and reserve it for on-road use. That way it could run street tires that wouldn't make me cringe that I was abusing the All-Terrain tread blocks. But if I had to chose only one, it would be the Dual Motor every-single-time, price be damned!

Don't get me wrong, I understand there are individuals whose priorities are such that it's Cyberbeast or bust, and that's perfectly fine. I'm just saying those priorities are far from universal. My priorities are; 1) Dual Motor, 2) Tri-motor.

I see you have made it to the 1% club using rational thought. Congrats on your success!

This same rational thought is the reason you don't understand the Beast. It is not for the rational brain. It drives on another plane of existence. Only those who want to see the impossible happen daily, who want to know magic exists, understand the Beast.

Oh, you can pry my third motor from my cold dead fingers, but AWD is where the value is. The Beast has since ended up with 180 miles less range, less payload and towing than expected, and $45K over the estimate. The 2.6 0-60 makes up for all that in my eyes, but I most certainly have a problem lol
Wait What ! your saying from the 320 estimate they claim your getting 180 less from that?
Please tell me I'm misunderstanding!

I don’t know what he’s saying exactly but I can guarantee you that I don’t reliably get more than 200 miles in my beast at highway speeds.
