What until you put the door subs in. The bass is so much more full and doesn’t sound like it’s only coming from the back. Dynamat or similar is definitely needed. That’s on my list to do next. Lots of rattles.
I agree many people underestimate just what mids can offer. They think just throw lots of amps at some sub woofers. But in reality it’s all about the balance with quality tweeters for crisp clean vocals , the mid drivers, and the subwoofers.

yeah I’m considering dynamite but gonna try to see if some insulating foam beneath the plastic sub housing will do the trick. Unless your mainly referring to the door speakers and dyna matting the panel before I put the door card back on.

I wish Tesla would update the service manual on how to remove/install the dash cover and dash speakers. A tech told me the steering wheel has to come off and requires Tesla to recalibrate before it'll drive, and that it can't be done remotely. I guess the answer is to swap out the speakers in the service center parking lot LOL!

Anyone figure out the process on removing the dash fabric trim over the speakers yet? I'm planning a full system upgrade with DSP, amps, 12" subs, and speakers -- that's the main thing holding me back from getting started at this point.

Speaking of this the subwoofer access manual also was not accurate based on my build. Showed only 2 push clips but I actually had four.

And the clips holding the panel to the frame was suppose to be these

Instead I had these plastic clips that had a metal clip on top of them that I basically ripped off.

I have all speakers installed and yes it does sound better. I will say on the subs you need to break them in. I had a lot of rattle after install. And yes I did sound dampen the area before installing, but a day later the rattle was done. I guess a really long road trip helped on that lol. Pretty impressed with the sound difference, but not low enough for me on the sub end. Better than the OEM, but not enough for my liking.

Is it noticibly louder without having to add any external amplifiers? Or about the same and just cleaner? Also, is there less clipping in the the mids and tweets at high volumes?

Finally took the subwoofer completely out the truck today to add some backing foam.

There is now no rattles coming from the housing . I may have went a bit overkill but more is better sometimes.

Also hot a chance to actually visually inspect how the cybertruck port opens to the frame of the vehicle to use the frame as displacement for the subwoofer.
Interesting design for sure.

here are some pics of what I used and how I applied it to the enclosure. Also a pic of the port that opens to the cybertruck frame.

Part 1 is live . This is my take on the process to install the subs, what issues I discovered, how I prevented rattling, and overall take on them. Only have so much free time so doing it in sections.

Freyguy, thank you for your video, instructions, & insights. 1 question: after you added the foam strips, was there any rattling coming from anywhere else? I look forward to you future installation videos.

no nothing it was very clean. I had some coming from door pockets but that is because I had loose items in there. Took everything out and no rattling. I def had some under the subwoofer enclosure even after I put trim back so I stuck hand under as a buffer and it went away. That’s when I knew just adding the foam would be enough.

I imagine once I do the doors I might run into a rattle related issue but I haven’t taken door panel off yet. But I will soon.
