I had 3 pretty jarring sudden brakes tonight. Not sure where those came from. Was cruising along straight no issues then suddenly brakes!

I didn't disengage I just kept going. I was on standard. I won't be able to give people rides on FSD if it's doing that.

Also it pumped the brakes on a left turn.

I've done ~100 miles on FSD 14 since download; it now knows how to pull in my driveway AND back out, that has never happened before. It figured out a lane that turns into a really long protected right, FSD 13 could never handle that lane correctly and was always a takeover event.

I think Mad Max makes the best decisions for freeway driving, as long as you know where the local constabulatory likes to hang out. Sloth is suburban neighborhood and surface street photo radar trap friendly. Standard and Hurry for me are for arterial street driving. I have a local left turn that similar to Chuck's UPL and FSD 14 Standard handled like a champ. Before I would have been freaked out to try FSD perform that left turn.

I haven't notice brake stabbing yet, but some mapping mistakes I think were evident. And sometimes it doesn't pick up most recent speed limits signs, but that problem was in FSD 13 anyway.

I've had a few 100 miles on v14 and the only serious issue is the braking for leaves. Yesterday the car went from 60 mph to a dead stop on a back country road. Luckily there was no one behind me but that could have gotten ugly. The truck stopped and refused to move thinking the leaves were people. Had to take over. Just be aware to disengage if you see things (leaves) flying in the road.

had parking garage set as parking at my destination - and it actually drove through the parking garage but it never chose a spot - just drove all the way up to the top, we passed several open spots too.

Had the leave swirling on the road and came to dead stop problem happen. It jittered to start a right hand turn with traffic oncoming, eventually going in front of a truck that was going a little fast. I have had odd quick slowdowns for no reason. Windshield wiper keeps going off on phantom wipes. Overall, it is much more confident at lights and stop-signs. Has driven me from my garage to my destination and parked without interruption. It seems to be more aware of potential issues. I like the build a lot, just needs to resolve these random situations it has not anticipated like the leaves.

Mine is stopping for a plastic Santa Claus at the neighborhood entrance. Kind of annoying.

Luckily in Florida I don't have the leave problem since they mostly stay green and on the trees year round. But I have had the random slowdowns. Not full stops but more like quick brakes. Happened to me more at night. They just need to smooth it some.

Updated mine and it is a little “twitchy”. On the second day of using it, on three separate occasions, the vehicle moved to avoid something in the road that wasn’t there! It either slowed down, or changed lanes & changed back to avoid some shadow or invisible obstacle!! Definitely keep your eyes on it, and report it so that this twitch can get sorted out.

installed and have only driven about 30 miles. Here’s what mine is doing. The things I list below have never happened before this version:
  1. It will actually drive into my driveway! Yay!
  2. It doesn’t seem to hesitate as much when moving from a stop.
  3. It phantom braked for leaves, I’m glad no one was behind me.
  4. Today, on a two lane blacktop, it decided to pull over onto a dirt road. There was no ambulances or any other thing that would cause this. I didn’t disengage, then after a complete stop, is pulled back onto the road. Weird
  5. On a left U turn, it hesitated because a car was coming towards me, but was plenty far enough away, my truck started stuttering. That was really weird. I nudged it and it safely made the U turn
  6. My biggest disappointment it not being able to use the scroll mph adjustment wheel. I live on a dirt road and when its wet, I drive slow, like to 8 / 10 mph to avoid slinging mud and gravel. I also used it on the highway, I usually go 65 when speed limit is 70. I always used Chill mode, and now have only tried Sloth mode. Sloth goes the speed limit, which, I wish I could dial it back. In others words, sloth mode isn’t as sloth as I would like it to be.

  7. One funny thing was, I was parked in my driveway and I started FSD, and instead of backing out of my driveway (the correct way) it was going to try to drive through my neighbors yard, LOL! I stopped it before it could.

  8. The “park at destination “ thing doesn’t work for me because I have to park in the handicap parking spot

  9. All in all, I’m sure it’s better/safer. But they still have some tweaking to do.

I was at work when the update came and with an hour plus commute home I wanted to install it NOW - used my iphone's hotspot to download the update - slow but it worked!

I was a heavy user of the right scroll wheel for speed cap, but pretty much immediately found the profiles a suitable replacement. All in all I'm very pleased with the update - lane centering much better and it just feels more like a human driver. Only two instances of the indecisive steering yoke stutter when it is deciding on a lane.

The big change I've noticed and haven't seen much discussion on is the navigation - on several trips since the update the nav has made really strange routes and uturns to get around. I'd say my most common reason for disengagement since the update has been poor and senseless routing!

I live down a long driveway and my home and garage are physically closer to another named street than the one I actually live on. When I use the map location to save my parking spot as "home", it identifies it as being on that other street for which there is no access from my property. The second time I told the truck to nav to home, it tried taking me to that other neighborhood - really need to solve this if end to end is going to work for me.

Also, I had a thought - if Tesla is treating all disengagements as "errors" to be solved for, they should give us some control inputs that are based on personal preference or on the fly decisions - except for the new nav routing issues above, many of my disengagements are simply because I wanted to make an unscheduled stop, take a different route, or just wanted to drive myself through a fun section of road etc. If we could disengage or modify the vehicle's behavior without it being an "error" it would improve the user experience and utility IMO.

I saw that same behavior today for the first time. Nothing too alarming, I was ready to take over, FSD seemed to be second guessing itself and the cars around us.

Am I the only one that hasn’t got the update yet? My truck has been parked in a metal building that acts as a faraday cage. No connection to the truck but I figured the update option would come to my phone.

I agree. I think there should be a separate thread regarding NAVIGATION. Anyone, any thoughts?

Yes, perfect drive today, then it had a weird, diverted route to a parallel road with lots of lights when it should have just stayed straight. About a mile. No accidents or other traffic disruptions.
