I will say, 14.2 is an improvement.

fewer brake jabs, still kind of hesitant but…

ive completed more than 1 point to point trip without any intervention, and coming home from work tonight, CT not only parked in the driveway, it took it upon itself to back itself in, which is the only way i can charge.

I will say, 14 started out really raw, but its strength is that it is showing it is ACTIVELY learning from my inputs and corrections, whereas 13 felt like shouting into the void with disengagements.

i guided it once out of the parking lot at work, which includes a gate, and the next time it did it on its own.

even speed profile seems honestly fairly easy and receptive to feedback except for a few areas like merges that it thinks are 40 mph roads, meanwhile everyone is flying by at 70 and empty parking lots where it seems to want to crawl at 8 mph…. Even then, still no disengagement, just nudges and feedback.. guidance. And its showing what its learned.

this is promising

Interesting. Do you normally back into your driveway by yourself manually driving?

Parking has been worse for me and I haven't been able to get it to back in to my driveway other than one time with 14.1.7.

Also, I did usual test of mine where I just ping pong from business to business to test the parking. If the next hop was within ~500-600 ft (within the same shopping center basically) it would pull out, move up a few spaces, and repark. I had to select a business that was ~.2 miles away in a shopping center next door.

It also froze mid turn in the middle of trying to park for 8-10 seconds. Also had some stuttering with the wheel turning in to a space. Parking definitely needs some love.

Mine does not back in yet..

But it does manage to mount the curb with the rear tire a bit more than I prefer. 😡🤬

I'd absolutely love some way to program the truck how to handle in particular locations.

For example, at our school, I'd love to navigate it through the pick-up line so it doesn't head for the parking lot. At home, I'd love to train it to back up our driveway under the carport where I manually back in to plug in.

I must also add that it did indeed navigate its way thru the In-N-Out drive thru line, somewhat..

The fact that it actually lets you enable FSD in line is a plus.. then just maintained distance with great logic up till the pay window.. at which time I had to stop and pay..

Bravo

Well, thats it exactly, you have to train it. Basically, in parking lots you can cancel the turn signal if it tries to park and gently guide the steering wheel in the direction you want it to go, nudge it forward with the pedal. If it thinks idk wtf you want it will disengage and youll have to do it manually, but it seems to get better each time and eventually will just do what you want it to. It seems to really want to complete end to end drives, and is willing to learn so it can accomplish that goal. Its challenging because if you do something different each time you go to a place, i don't think it will learn the consistent behavior as well, as that might confuse it as to what you are actually looking for each time. Maybe if you set the arrival option to curbside, and direct it toward an area in the pick up line, but parking spot for any other type of parking in the same place it will get the idea.

Thats another fair point, you can disengage and reengage immediately after correction, and it seems to get the idea as well that it needs to do something differently. It really is accepting of driver input ive found

Still on 14.1.7, but I’ve noticed that it will only back into the driveway if the spot is between two other vehicles. If my work car is on one end and my wife’s car is still out of the garage on the other end, it will back in between them. Otherwise it pulls in nose first. I’m guessing when the other vehicles are there it sees an available “parking spot?” It’s pretty repeatable though. Every time it wants to pull in I cancel and back in but it doesn’t seem to be learning that behavior.

I've been on 14.2 - works great overall - only issues is that 50% of the time it decides to park on the driveway of my neighbor. This driveway ~75ft from mine... Wish they improved this and also make you decide *where* on the driveway you park - I have particular spots for my cars..

When I enter my driveway have side mirrors automatically collapse which is awesome cause the mirrors would be clipped off the sides of garage. Anyone figure out how to make them go back to normal upon exiting the garage. I end up pressing the unfold button every time. Now that Im spoiled one less button to press on the screen would be helpful, Thanks

Have we figured out how to make it park in the garage?

I dont park in the garage, but im sire you could guide it in, and if it couldnt figure out what you were doing it would disengage and monitor

yes. You should be able to set, “this is exactly how I want my car parked in my garage/driveway.” Just like you can set your driver seat position. It pulls into my driveway forward and right in the middle… can’t charge and no room for the other car.
