When is it? Maybe I'll see if I can get down there. Id have to fly, driving would take too much time and effort altho it would be an awesome drive.

You’re most likely right, I know that. I might wake up one day wondering why I left a 6-figure police job for a $60K security gig. But I did things right and made smart investments early so it’s not really about money for me. Working for Tesla or SpaceX is actually somewhat meaningful. Policing is largely what you see in the ER. Yet another POS drug dealer that got shot by another drug dealer. Who cares?
I respect that. For me, the rare times when I avert true tragedy by doing my job make it worth the rest. If you really think about it, there are at least a handful of people who are sleeping soundly tonight rather than living in fear or maybe even not living at all as a direct consequence of your actions. If the price is no longer something you can bear, that’s your business, but your role is still very meaningful and while you’re doing it or even after you no longer are, you need to give yourself credit for that.
