Hello everyone,

Yesterday I had a new set of OEM A/Ts installed by Tesla. I have a FS AWD with a 05/2024 build date.

I was provided a loaner and was given an AWD with a 01/2025 build date. The loaner had the core wheels, A/S, and only about 2k miles.

The throttle mapping/response on the loaner was noticeably different - in a good way - than my FS AWD.

Much more ā€˜Tesla like’ …like what we have in our 2020 Model Y’s. Very quick to come on and more ā€˜effortless’ if I’m making sense. Not that my FS AWD isn’t quick off the line and all that, but the loaner was better.

Anyone else have this experience? Iā€˜m wondering if it’s the A/T vs the A/S??

I’m tempted to create a service ticket for it, haha!!

BTW: Hats off to the West Covina SC. They’re the best.

And really happy I was able to use up the rest of my FS credits before they expired today, haha!!

Interesting observation, I have a June 2024 delivery FS Beast, and my throttle map seems very useable in beast mode to my tastes. I can inch off the line very smoothly, to my spouses tastes, and if I need to send passengers back into their seats violently, in a beast launch, I can with no problem, and my spouses 2021 Model Y seems very slow compared to my beast......It might just be me, but my FS Beast throttle map seems so much more smooth, than any ICE truck I've every driven.

One of the many things that sold me on Teslas was the amazing throttle response.

As you say, so easy to modulate from mild to wild.

Again, my FS AWD drives great. But the throttle response on the later build AWD was better.

I think you hit the nail on the head, the difference is likely mostly the tire setups. Service appointment not needed!

The All-seasons are considerably lighter (and the core wheels are lighter as well). With the same throttle mapping the lighter setup will feel perkier simply due to absorbing less of the power delivered. This matters, even more so on larger diameter wheels and tires like the 35" setup on the Cybertruck.
