Welp…my SC now wants proof of purchase *from Tesla* before they’ll install (I never mentioned that I got it from eBay) If they won’t budge, I’ll see if they’re willing to install the rivnuts at least, haha!! ETA: I don’t mind if I’m the one sticking this thing down. I know I’ll go overboard...

My SC says they’ll install as long as: - It’s a Tesla Lightbar - It’s brand new and not previously mounted - And it’s the latest part number Ok by me, haha!!

That’s a fair compromise. I‘ve got no problem drilling holes and installing the rivnuts myself, but there’s always that small chance I FUBAR it, haha!! I messaged my SC to see if they will install. Waiting on a reply.

IIRC, this was a common-ish complaint with early VINs. Leave the CT out in the rain, switch stops working due to water intrusion. Again, IIRC, Tesla revised the part. My VIN 13xxx hasn't had an issue.

My 24 FS AWD is still losing connectivity. I’ve rebooted, powered off, and reset the modem in Service Mode. I’ll get LTE for a bit, then back to one-bar 3G and red boxes in SM I’ve got a service visit for Monday 06/01.

Yes. FS AWD 13xxx Keeps showing ‘3g’. I’ve tried cycling the modem in Service Mode, which restores LTE but only for a short while. Started happening after the latest (for me) update: 2026.2.9.10

In Service Mode, I have multiple alerts about those modules being out of calibration. SC said it was normal (they do adjust and move just fine).

Same for early 2020 MYLR...we had two of them (July & August 2020). Tesla eventually offered a HEPA/BWDM upgrade for $300. They sent a mobile tech to add the HEPA filter/HEPA filter housing and update the software with the BWDM button.

Info only: That can be turned off if you don’t use it. I turned it off for my CT.

Haven’t tried that yet. I’ll give it a shot later today. All premium connectivity works fine.

I’m starting to think it’s a software issue. The 3G always only shows one bar, regardless of location or proximity to a cell tower.

After the latest update, my CT is displaying the ‘3G’ symbol a lot. I tried rebooting, which got it back to LTE for a bit, but now 3G is back. My location has excellent cellular coverage, and I’ve been driving at least 70 miles away from home through areas that also have excellent coverage.

I actually saw one of these in the wild here in southern California. I almost couldn't believe it. It was interesting how easily I could spot it, mainly because the truck bed was open, a rarity around here, haha!!
