No jokes please. Seriously I noticed lately that the squircle which used to be freely moving when in park, now feels like an ICE auto steering wheel? Is this a problem with mine or the behavior changed with one of the software updates?

Wait, why no jokes? Where is the fun in that?

I'll be disappointed if they changed that. I like showing off the lack of mechanical steering by turning the squircle.

And it's fun watching it snap into place when I get into the truck. 🔃❕

I thought it resisted movement when there is no driver, but is free-turning when the truck is off.

I’ve seen both behaviors, but never gave it much thought.

🤷‍♂️

If a Cybertruck steering wheel is powered off in the middle of the forest and nobody is there to see it flop, does it make a sound?

It was never activated unless the truck is powered on. I regularly show folks the rear wheel steering, and have always had to press the brake pedal to wake up the truck to be able to turn the steering wheel.

When it goes to sleep it will be loose, but when it wakes up, it will stiffen up, especially in the morning. This may fade the older it gets.
