I don't ever get the low ambient light warning in my CT; but, I used to get them in my 2018 Model 3. I turned my center display illumination on brighter, so more light filled the cabin. Didn't take much. Warnings went away. I don't know if subsequent software updates fixed it, because I just left my display the way it was.

My truck nags me constantly day or night since 13.2.9 because I wear sunglasses (I don't wear sunglasses at night). It wasn't a problem on an approx 2000 mile drive with FSD (Supervised) enabled when I had 13.2.8 installed. I tried three different pairs of sunglasses, two with dark lenses, one with a reddish lens that you can see through to the eyes, none of them work. This is in broad daylight so I would be surprised if it had anything to do with the IR illumination but that's the next thing I'll check. FSD 14.1.7 is no better, within a few minutes of starting a drive, I get the new nag.

Are you looking down with sunglasses on?

Most have more leniency with sunglasses on V13 and V14.

With sunglasses on, the car is looking at head tilt/angle.

Last week I had a Service Center appointment to rotate tires and the night before is when the new software update downloaded. So I had not driven it yet. The next morning in the dark when I was driving to the Service Center, I was getting the screen nag every 10 minutes and couldn’t get rid of it. I took a rag and cleaned the interior camera. No change. I moved a pull here to eject keychain from the visor a tiny bit that have been there since the car was new and the nag stopped. It must’ve been a reflection off of the ring, not sure, but after that, they did an interior clean of the camera lens because I reported the car hovering on the left lane so they did a no charge clean. I’m getting zero nags but on some of the things the self drive is doing is increasing my blood pressure. The next day I tried to bring the nag back by looking left, right, down. No nags at all. That was the first day ever for no nags while on FSD supervised. Worst issue I have now is the cars paranoia over tire skid marks. It is really bad now.

When this first started happening I was trying to be as still as possible looking straight ahead and only moving my eyes to quickly glance down at the screen occasionally to check for the nag. The only thing that worked was when I removed my sunglasses.

I tell my passengers at night to shine a flashlight in my face while driving. I never get nagged. It's annoying but it works.

Yes, this is a joke.

I've had the same issue since the 2025.38.8.7 update. First night time drive I started the drive with a ballcap on and saw the "hands free disabled" on the screen and the nags started - every 10-15 seconds it seemed - even after removing the ball cap. I left several disengagement messages with increasing frustration. The drive home that night was better for some reason.

I've always gotten nags at night. 14.1.7 seems a little better in that regard but not much. Do you wear glasses? I do. I wonder if the IR is less effective with glasses?
Are your glasses polarized? It has a hard time seeing through those.

That’s very interesting. My eyes are very sensitive to glare & even on a heavily overcast and/or rainy day I wear sunglasses & have never had a problem with the camera because of that.

But a few weeks ago when I was wearing a ball cap & the Sun low in the sky I got blinded a few times over a span of a minute or so. Each time this happened I tilted my head to block the sunlight with the ball cap bill. Then within a second or two I’d get the flashing red warning. Each F-ing time. I finally intervened & immediately filed a scathing report. Why the truck reacted so dang fast to issue a warning really pissed me off.

FWIW, after installing 14.2.1, the sunglass issue is gone, I haven't had a nag yet after several trips on FSD. IMHO this confirms that it was a software regression that took several months to rectify. I shouldn't be surprised because after all "It's a Tesla".
