These won't dramatically cut noise down. Maybe a touch, but the primary sources of noise with our truck are the tires, windshield and mirrors... well and the door vibrating like a bass drum. These won't solve that. They will cut the amount of dust on the sills dramatically.

If you really want to quiet everything down, put dynamat (or generic equivalent) in the doors, behind the wheel wells and remove the mirrors. That's excessive, but would do the trick. Dynamatting the doors would be the biggest of the group as it dampens the mirror and tire noise the most... and gets rid of the bass drum.

They do not do a thing at least the door seals, i've never seen the frunk kit before. On the doors, noise is not reduced at all. Dust is not reduced. They don't seal against 2 sides of the vehicle. Aka you stick them to door, but when you close the door they do not touch the body frame. These are a scam and you should not waste your money on them.

Has anyone tried this kit out? Is it worth the effort and cost? When are we going to get active noise cancellation for the CT?

What about a kit that weatherproofs the bed?

Does anyone know of a way to prevent water or dust from getting in the bed?
Such as having boxes in the back, preventing them from getting wet or dusted out in a dust storm if in a windy desert like area?

Something ideally DIY, kind, but willing to bring it in professionally if need be.

You'll never get anything that is absolutely sealed DIY. You can make it resistant.

The main source of water intrusion is where the tonneau cover meets the roof. Stock (with all the slats, which for early owners if iffy), it is pretty good. You can add a little rubber piece to extend from the plastic trim piece over the slats. That'll cover most water. You'll still get some on the tailgate corners and some leaks around the side, but minimal.

Now dust... that's going to be very difficult to get perfect. The main intrusion point is the opening from the bed floor to the tailgate. Some weatherstripping/foam there will handle most of it. It'll still seep in from the top corners of the tonneau cover to tailgate and the tailgate lower corners, but will drastically reduce. If you can find a way to eliminate that, you'll still have some seep in from the bed floor/trunk. That isn't perfectly sealed from the bottom and allows some dust in. You'd have to pull apart the bed floor and add weather stripping to the chassis. With enough money, anything is possible... but you're going to be chasing it (probably for your entire ownership) if you want perfection. It's a truck bed, not really designed to be perfectly sealed.

That’s great insight. It’s more important to me to deal with water proofing than making it dust proof.
I used to have an F-150 with a camper shell and did my best to get it water proof and dust proof. Accomplished one and not so much the other.
But hopefully can get something to help seal the seams and vulnerable points.

I just want something to solve the low speed 20-40mph wind noise that sounds like a hvac leak in the cabin from the front dash area. Doesn’t happen every drive.

I run 15mm D weatherstripping along the back edge of the bed floor, then shove in a piece of foam under the trunk handle. I frequently travel Colorado/New Mexico dusty roads and it stops that vast majority of dust. I still get some, but it is manageable. The worst now is from the trunk lid and it gathering there and slipping through those cracks. It isn't enough for me to care.

With water... I honestly rarely have issues outside the rear corners since I got the slats fixed. Now I don't live in the wettest climate, so definitely some grains of salt. If I spray backwards or if I have a heavy snow melting on top I can get some. If I lived in say the PNW, I'd probably add a seal to the trim to help the top shed water... but it's pretty close without that for my climate.

This sounds to me like an entirely different issue. Seals that have gone bad/improperly installed or a broken blend door or something.

Here is mine and did this to all doors. Does minimize debris and water spots around the sills.I did the bottom door edges too. Basically a wrap around. Highly recommend. And yes does help with low speed noise in my opinion.

Do the added strips make contact with the sill fully around the door? The website says a 20 dB noise reduction but I'm skeptical of that claim.

I didn’t run a Db test. I know a forum member ran one at around 70mph and didn’t have any noise reduction per se. Although he did not do all the sides. The bottom seal does still leave a gap. Just ran my fingers there. I never really did have noise at high speed and there is no difference with this application. Stopped or rolling slowly it helps. I mainly applied it for debri and excessive water around the sills during rain.
