Anyone seen this one ? https://www.chron.com/culture/article/cybertruck-houston-lawsuit-21965298.php

comes from a 2025 incident - which was the 13.XXX iteration of FSD - personally felt that 13.XXX FSD was not as good as anything beyond 14.2 is - albeit i don't like that they didn't fix the phantom wiping and the new avoid road debris seems to have a hubris for tire marks - i can understand how this happens - driving past that one couple of times this is the HOV (high occupancy vehicle, in HOU it is 2+) exit lane on the US59 overpass - it is even tricky as a human driver if you are not used to the HOV exits to drive correctly. i don't think anything than bad PR will come out of it, and if you ask me, this is a supervisor (driver seat) fault...

I noticed the article didn't show the dashcam footage, so I'm going to just count this one as FUD automatically.

I don’t believe it was in FSD either. I think she crashed it and doesn’t want to accept responsibility so she is looking to punt the blame and make a buck… It definitely looks like it was moving too fast. I’ll be interested in seeing what Tesla has to say after they examine the files….

So it's a clean turn. Starts out smooth albeit fast.
Then there's a sudden brake and jerking the wheel.

What I think happened was FSD was going to do the turn perfectly, which is why you see it curving to the right, but she had her foot on the accelerator the entire time making it a fast turn.

She then panicked when she saw she was turning hot, that's the first brake. Then the wiggle is her being indecisive and not fucking pulling hard right like the FSD was going to do.

Just my analysis, could be wrong what do I know.

The filing itself was interesting read. They undoubtedly do not like Elon. Lots of stuff in there about how Tesla keeping Elon in charge is a detriment to the company and it was his doing that LiDAR are not in their vehicles and they instead use "cheap cameras." Go on to recite about how Waymo is better in their approach. Truly reads like they despise Elon and his leadership. Also interesting the wording they choose between Auto-pilot and FSD. The whole time they say FSD until she was in her accident and then say auto-pilot. Literally the only time they say that. Says she disengaged when she saw it wasn't going to make the turn but the CT should have warned her to pay more attention.

that video looks like the truck is going way too fast for that turn.
well i have been at the same corner, and the cybertruck handles the compete HOV lane exists finicky, BUT conservative - not assertive (!!) given that it was summer 2025, we didn't had speed profiles, but it appears as if the accelerator pedal was pressed - wonder what Tesla reads out from the data stream. Weird to read about autopilot - cybertruck never had autopilot.

footage speed looks altered to me.

also, I am even more skeptical now that someone has screen recorded their f'ing phone in portrait mode. tells me that are about a 80 or lower IQ.

Accelerator press is possible. Yeah there's a whole lot of Elon did this and that in that lawsuit. Very strange. None of it seems to have anything to do with the person crashing. Autopilot never even existed on the truck. Unfortunately this was before it would show the FSD data on the recordings.

I know Tesla does not like to advertise, does not do things like regular companies.
But a small PR team is needed for things like this, video implies an issue, if it was that sucks, but if it was not it needs to be cleared up not just left for people to assume it was an FSD issue.

There's a reason why Tesla shut down the PR team. You end up getting extorted and spending money on every hit job. It's an offering to the beast.

Trust in media is at an all-time-low, who cares. Don't spend money on advertising, don't spend money on PR bullshit. Put it into the product. When someone sends me artisan waters or has X celebrity come out, all I can think is "oh shit this product is going to be expensive because of this".

Not saying they need to take a a full page in the NYT
A simple post on X stating facts would clear up so much of this stuff, video doesn't look good but if there is a non-guilty Tesla explanation that would be great than people assuming it was FSD becoming Skynet.
