The tire and wheel is part of the absorbtion strategy. Why they have that block on the inside that has to be removed for 18s.

I think giant wheels did not help.

The combined speed then the second colision with a semi after... The real cause...

I think they got some facts wrong in the article. There was a vehicle fire. I thought EVs always caught on fire in accidents, but the article mistakenly says the BMW caught on fire. I didn't think gas cars caught on fire. I feel I've been told lies by the media. Say it ain't so!
It is more typical for ICE vehicles to catch fire in a crash, than EVs. The fuel pump supplies highly flammable gasoline to the engine at a high rate and the crash will generate sparks. It doesn't require the fuel tank to be involved. Fuel pump shutoff won't occur immediately. The EV, OTOH, has its battery under the chassis and is not in the crush zone in this type of crash, so it isn't likely to catch fire. I am kinda assuming your post is sarcasm or, at least, I hope.

Of course it was. The media as a whole tends to ALWAYS mention if a Tesla is involved in an accident but -
Any other manufacturer's car:

"An SUV jumped the curb and killed 17 children in a fiery crash that wiped out an orphanage, a bus full of nuns, and electric power to the local hospital and fire department. Alcohol is to blame."

If a Tesla is involved:

"An Elon Musk produced communist Tesla caused fiery crash injuring two! Story follows. These cars MUST be taken off the road. They are a menace to society. Musk is evil. He is spready his devil electrons all over. Tesla is evil...." much later in the article, "Mike, a fireman at the county volunteer fire department was getting out of his Tesla when the door bumped a mop which fell into a grill, toppling the grill and slightly burning Bob and John who were having a drunken debate on hamburger grilling techniques."

Or something like that. Every time a Tesla is involved, it's called out by Brand but not other brands in the thousands of accidents they are involved in...

Oh, thank goodness. Sometimes you never know. Some people have their heads up their ICE.

Well, Musk is spreading his electrons everywhere. Isn’t he up to 14 kids?
