I placed my order on March 13 and I still dont have a vin. Site still.says 5-7 weeks and I spoke to a tesla salesperson and they said my eta is 8-10 weeks. I'm so confused and tired of checking 50 times a.day to see if a vin had been assigned. Refresh after refresh.
But from looking at the forum it seems it's taking about a month just to get a vin.
I'm in California, hopefully I'll get it sooner than later...
Glad to know im not the only one re freshing the damm app 100 times per day 🤣🤣
:ROFLMAO:I'm down to once a day. I think I got bumped to after the quarter end due to limited delivery volume to Des Moines Iowa. I ordered back on Feb 12. Looks like I'll get a post line update build. Should be interesting to go through it to see what is different. One guy has already mentioned a better charge curve on a recent 2026 build.

Ordered Premium AWD 2/26 VIN assigned (3/17), and was able to schedule delivey 3/26...pushed to 3/30...now unable to schedule a delivery...was told by pickup location (Totowa, NJ) they expect it 4/4...not even able to schedule now...weirdly they allowed me to do every step even E-sign because they didn't cancel my appointment until day of...now the only step left is schedule and delivery...we'll see...wondering if anyone else is stuck in 'Your vehicle is in transit'...mine's said that since VIN assigned 15 days ago.

A friend in New Mexico has been waiting to pick up a model Y and, so far, has had a very similar experience. But he even had his VIN disappear yesterday. Yet, a couple hours ago, he got a call from the Tesla dealership and he is on his way to pick it up right now. Something tells me it’s pure chaos deliveries at the moment. Don’t give up hope. I hope they can pull a similar surprise for you.

Ordered March 12th, VIN assigned today. It showed up on my insurance tasks with a 93xxx VIN. Cool.
Checked today and it’s on a truck to my delivery location. Delivery date is still TBD, but making quick progress. I’m a couple states over from Tx.

Ordered 3/14 Premium AWD (Gray, Core, Terrestrial). Picked up today 3/31! DMV area.
It is the exact spec I ordered but not my original vehicle. One buyer in the local area backed out last night and the team at my delivery center managed to push me up the list! Feeling absolutely blessed today.
Overall build quality is great (VIN 92XXX), Tesla definitely didn’t take any time detailing the vehicle at all lol. Windshield is a bit smudgy and exterior panels are dirty lol. But panel gap is very consistent and everything lines up. Only small issue is the plastic top cap of the tailgate has a weird little protrusion from assembly I assume. Delivery advisor noted the issue for me.

Congratulations! the truck looks great!

I had my pickup today and had to unfortunately decline the delivery because there were lot of damages to the trim and the truck bed looked discolored. I was informed the truck bed is generally not clean and uniform in color. If you don’t mind can you check your truck bed for any discoloration or do you know if they touched it up with trim restorer? If you can post some photos of your truck bed that would be really helpful. Thanks and I hope you enjoy your truck.

Sorry to hear. If the trim was damaged I would have rejected the vehicle as well.

Did the SA place a fresh Cybertruck order for you?

What happens when you outright decline a truck. Meaning you're refusing their attempt to remedy. Do you have to order all over again or something else?
Cases I know of, they got put back in the queue near the head of the queue.

What happens when you outright decline a truck. Meaning you're refusing their attempt to remedy. Do you have to order all over again or something else?
Tesla usually allows 2 refusals.

After that they cancel your order and you lose your deposit. This started back when people were refusing for tax credit or to wait for rate drops or getting too picky.

It depends on the SC, I've seen people reject more than 2, but most get a warning that "next time you will lose your deposit".

When there was acutual inventory I can understand, but right now every truck is someone's order so not sure where they get another truck short of ordering one all over again.
Your truck isn't allocated until you get a VIN#. Before then you are in queues for specific builds.

Tesla still doesn't make orders 1 to 1. They have a system that allocates batches based on order behavior. Inventory still occurs, just much smaller than when Tesla thought the CT would sell like the MY/3.

I'll check that for you later today when I get back. The delivery center doesn't have the best lighting for photos. But I don't recall seeing anything else out of the ordinary on any plastic parts. For me, it's a truck bed anyways. I'll probably abuse the hell out of it lol.

Reserved 12/2019 Ordered 1/19/2026 vin assigned 3/10/2026 delivery scheduled 3/28.

3/28 No delivery - told bad VDO?? (unit that connects battery to drive motor) can’t get a part until 31

3/31 No delivery - told it wasn’t the VDO after all it was a wiring harness. Waiting for parts again. Maybe 4/4.

Happy to hear the work will be done at no charge. lol.

I have been thinking about it. I have been on vacation and not home until 4/4. (I was going to drive back and get it on the 31th if ready)

if there is a 3rd issue. Reject is what I will do.

As of right now, I would like to at least see it and understand from the technician what was done.

I don’t mind waiting again for 3 months.



Have you thought about refusing delivery and getting in line for another one, you waited this long?
