I can’t see how this wouldn’t already have Elon’s attention. What seems odd is how many trucks they still seem to be producing despite this problem, at least what appears to be in the various flyover vids. The latest one has a red-wrapped ct that’s finally a unique marker, 10th from the end of row in the rear of the outbound lot. 30:25 of this:

My guess is this is either some major issue surfacing in their own battery tech or something annoyingly simple (like a bad casting of a truckload of plastic connectors) but involves a long supply chain pipeline that sources afar; if the latter maybe they’re modding the plugs/whatever by hand, or finding a few that aren’t bad, to maintain some level of production but counting on a new shipment from overseas on a big slow boat that hasn’t even left yet. Re “splay” I can’t find a definition of the problem but it sounds to me like pins got jammed/bent instead of connecting.

…and maybe there’s a software update that will have a specific check on connectivity to rule a given truck in/out of whether it’s affected, muddying the message about “splay” and “update”.

Yours is the unfortunate case where the truck hasn’t gone into production yet. You are seeing the delivery timeline now which is for the fresh orders placed today (Aug-Sept). Most of us have our trucks at the SCs, almost to be delivered and then held up at the last moment.
how long has your wait been? I placed 5/17 and got a VIN about 8-10 days later

That is so frustrating. My guess is that they want to keep our concern for the issue minimized and think that by not disclosing what it is, we'll just wait. It's taking too long though. The lack of transparency for me is a bigger concern now.
This is their status quo, though. They have no incentive to tell anyone the reason why it’s happening.

For me… Been waiting 60 days, 8 hours, and 32 minutes, not that I’m counting or anything. 😝
Is yours still saying currenting in production? what is your new ETA delivery range now? My pickup SC is in Warminster PA, they are helpless.

How are those of you without VIN’s seeing a delivery window?

I ordered a PAWD on 5/15 with an estimated delivery of July-August. All I see on the app and website is the message to complete my tasks and telling me delivery scheduling will open once they confirm my vehicle’s arrival date. Given what some of you have been through I’ve stopped checking the app 37 times a day and now just check once a day. I was a day one reservation so I figure I’ve been waiting since 2019, another couple months won’t kill me.

go ask Tesla AI about what is your cybertruck order delivery window. Either you need to provide the invoice number yourself. or AI will prompt asking if this is the RN you asking.

Yes, it still says in production. The only update that happened is when they canceled my trade-in value and made me redo it. Still waiting to see what that new offer is. But yes, hanging in production.

Your order is before me, and we are both in 94k VIN range, and also in production for me as well. If anything, you should hear from yours before I do. Since my delivery window push to end of June, so hopefully both of us hear something in the next 14 days.

If it is equipment then that specific defective piece can always be replaced as the new series are being built so shouldn’t be a parts shortage issue. The PAWD CT orders are really piling up as the delivery window for new orders has moved up to Sept-Oct now …

I received notification via the app and a text message tonight that my CT is ready for pick up. Ordered on 3/31. Delivery was scheduled for 5/09 but was stopped on 5/08 with the containment hold issue. I've been checking with an advisor every couple of days and getting a response once a week. Picking up tomorrow, even with the containment hold delay of 3 weeks, makes the process only barely over 2 months total. I'll try to find out tomorrow exactly what was done to fix the hold issue. It's a moot point now but I wouldn't mind knowing. I'll share here if I learn anything.
