How easy is parking in shopping centers? Does the rear wheel steering help much? My in-laws are elderly and frail. How easy is it to get in and out? I'm around #50,000 on waiting list for CT but really facing temptations to get the Lightning or even the Rivian with all the recent discounts and special interest rate.

I get followed all the time in the DeLorean, but never aggressively. One of the joys of ownership, I suppose. I don't drive it unless I'm ready to have an impromptu car show everywhere I go.

A common event is when drivers start to overtake me, they get within a few car lengths and go "holy shit a DeLorean" and slow down, hovering up right in my blind spot. sigh
That has happened to me quite a bit! I only have 2500 miles in the past 20 days or so. There have been people using flash to record videos at night when I’m on the highway. There have been others stopping in traffic to get a picture too. The occasional truck owner going over the center line when being overtaken.

Update after 2.5 months.

I have 4799 miles at 401 Wh/mi with 95% of mileage on highways at 70 mph +/- 10 mph. With the way we drive our vehicles, this number probably won't change much.

I had a friend ask about the range with towing as a gotcha moment. He also owns a truck. I asked him how often he tows and he admitted he has never towed with his truck. I am towing a float in our local parade in less than two weeks. Will that make me more of a truck owner than him?

I have two issues with the truck so far. One is the support door hinge on the driver side has issues. They already tightened it, but it came loose again. They will be replacing the hinge I believe on the next service visit. My driver seat also has issues sometimes moving back and forth. They will look at this as well. I will also get the recall for my vehicle. The recall that 90% of people think that they took the truck away from me.

I got the Powershare installed for right under $4200. I had a 40 amp charger, and the 48 amp charger helps out a lot! i can't start charging until midnight with off-peak hours, so it makes a difference. They put my air conditioner and most of the downstairs on the gateway. Being able to cook, keep the refrigerator running, and also have air conditioning during a power outage will be nice. Definitely a luxury item for that much money.

I have a wrap date for May 20. We settled on Obsidian Red PPF and will be getting extra tinting on all the windows. Just 30% all around for helping out with the 110 degree temperatures we get up to during the summer. They will be ceramic coat the vehicle as well. Will post pictures when it is finished!

The most annoying thing about the vehicle is the constant recall talk. I almost snapped at a co-worker and gave him a lesson about recalls and showed him his car had multiple recalls that they addressed at service appointments. I let everyone know about recalls now about other cars. People seem really worried about them, so I educate everyone on every recall these days.

I can't stand the left or right in this country right now. :p This is my political stance and hopefully it is the stance of most people right now. We hear the extremes on both sides, which are very vocal online and full of hatred, but in reality I think more people are more moderate and accepting of others in public.

My fear of my car being hit by sledgehammers or having lead balls thrown at it is from the social media idiots. If they do this, not only will my truck record them, but they will also incriminate themselves posting it on TikTok or YouTube.

I posted the following as a separate post for people who are paranoid about having a low range estimate in the beginning. My first charge was 234 miles at 80%, which is equivalent to 293 miles. I charged to 100% last night after 1255 miles travelled and my estimate is exactly the same as what Tesla said it should be.
