It really blows my mind that the FSD is different from truck to truck. Mine is basically perfect with no problems. I am not a tech guy and don't understand why the FSD would not be same for everyone.
I contend that it's just people with different driving style preferences and tolerance levels for how it handles complex edge cases.

Think some people are better drivers than others, and some people even make terrible passengers.

Resemble that terrible passenger remark. Had to do my best to close my eyes and sleep last time the boss drove the CT.

I don't think its quite as simple as that. I've had my truck on FSD completely ignore the navigation that told it to turn right and head north. The truck crossed the road it was supposed to turn on, then made a left turn, crossed it again even though navigation kept trying to reroute it to the main road.

I drove through several neighborhoods before it eventually sent me into the boonies.

Other times I've had FSD circle take the route it was supposed to and then start circling the same block 3 times before moving on.

Turning off Online Routing stops it from doing that 100%.

It might be the city as well. I've had FSD perform perfectly in Miami Florida. Perfectly in Orlando and New Orleans. But in my hometown its a hot mess.

Yes, it sometimes makes errors. What I'm saying is I don't think that is evidence that individual trucks have different behavior profiles.

Will ASS include Banish, too? I've only ever had a CT, so I'm unfamiliar with whether/how ASS and Banish are related. I generally do prefer having the ability to Banish ASS on a whim. When ASS outstays its welcome, it becomes a pain in the... strained metaphor?

No. Banishes a later arriving feature for everyone, this will just put us at parity when it does happen.

Alot of it is perception. Reading alot of people FSD experience its very dependent on how comfortable people are with different driving styles. There are many people that when FSD is level 5 and doing robotaxi on their own car and across the country will swear that FSD is terrible and always doing things they dont like and they have to take over every day. And on the other hand there are people like me who might be too tolerant of its oddities and probably need to take over a little more often. And we all agree navigation sucks.

Turning off you lose the traffic information in navigation and it will not reroute you around traffic.

Ok but if you have your own separate GPS running simultaneously you could manually adjust your route as needed.

Winning combo?

I have traffic information enabled, but I set it to not re-route me unless it would save me at least 6 minutes. I don't think I've any of the type of navigation issues described previously, even when on a road trip far from home. Maybe those types of issues only show up with a very low number set for time savings
