I had been considering buying Nemo Stargazer chairs for meteor shower, Starlink satellite counting, and "other" reclined views. They are pricy, $180 per. But have great reviews.

The recline angle really supports the head and neck for sky viewing, which is why I wanted the Newo.

Costco is carrying a knock off by Tommy Bahama brand (on sale this month of r $39.99 in warehouse) and they are great for the price. Sturdy, easy to assemble. Very very comfy and easy to adjust recline/upright position with simple strap pull. I have 2 now stowed in the vault.

I have a similar pair. Excellent for stargazing as you pointed out.
Toddler sleeps in one occasionally when we’re out and about too

Not a chair but if you enjoy stargazing, this set of ultra wide angle mini binoculars are tough to beat! It’s the best money you’ll spend if you have kids as well!

You used to be able to get them on Amazon but now they only sell a similar pair from Svbony, that aren’t quite as good. I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to glass, as I have several pairs of Swaro’s that I swear by for hunting. These aren’t those but for the price, they’re soooo much fun at night!

I've been wanting a pair of 2X wide angle binos for a few years now, just never pulled the trigger until now. Thanks for the recommendation!

That’s awesome and let me know what you think of them. We used to live in your neck of the woods out in Pullman and used to love sitting out on the deck on a dark night with them. Climbed Rainier and on the morning of our summit, I pulled them out and thought I could reach out and touch the stars! Looking forward to hearing your stories as you venture out into the Cascades!

I spent some time last year modifying my vintage Meade ETX60 for bluetooth and app integration. I also inherited an Edmund Scientific Astroscan. Those wide angle binos look fun!

I just ordered the Orion 2x54 binos. Excited to try them.

Anyone use a Seestar or similar yet?

It’s amazing what one can create with Ai. 🤭
But yes, a proper pair of PVS 15’s with clean tubes and glass are outstanding but if you’re interested in using a pair of NOD’s for stargazing, I’d grab the Gen 3 14’s with an H-Alpha filter. You’ll see things you can’t imagine with the amplifier.

Hadn’t considered this before. Thanks for sharing, OP!!

I recently got a pair of Canon 12x32 image stabilized binoculars. Wow, what a difference the IS makes!!

I love my Canon image stabilized binoculars. Had them for a couple decades. I was previously using IS lenses with my cameras.
