Starlink Roam changes.

FYI, just got an email that said for Starlink mini users, now only the Roam Unlimited plan offers full speed internet “everywhere on the planet”. any other Roam plan gets full speed localized to a certain region only, and then trickle speed everywhere else.

was about to take a trip to italy where I was contemplating taking my dish. im on the 100gb plan. now ill have to upgrade to unlimited for the trip.

I am not a customer, but I try and stay current on on Starlink prices. From what I have seen they change their prices regularly. From what I understand you can switch between plans very easily.

You might be able to switch plans for just your trip, then switch back?

yeah, they are a bit of a weird spot right now where they are trying their best to balance global bandwidth. I expect plans and prices to drop dramatically when we hit v3 saturation on the network, but it all hinges on Starship.

The next flight window is coming up very soon. SUPER exciting!

yes thats one of the good things about it. before this email though it wouldnt have been necessary. as with everything thing in the teslaverse you have to roll with the punches.

yes something like you can change your localization. but I think thats for if you move to italy and not just visit.

I think theres a boat/private jet plan for that. I think its quite pricey
