According to X this materialized today for new orders!
Yes, that post may have been lost in the shuffle.

We've also determined that if you don't have a vin you may be able to reconfigure to these new options, but it delays your order to July (or later).

To be clear, do you have to be in that sweet spot between being told your vehicle is ready to configure and VIN assignment?

From what I gather, there are 4 phases:

Phase I: Reservation. You have put down $100 and are waiting but can't do ANYTHING other than cancel the order at this time.

Phase II: Configure your order. You have either found out on the app or web page that you can now configure your Cybertruck. Exciting day!

Phase III: VIN assigned. At this point, it's too late to make changes.

Phase IV: Delivery day.

What am I missing?
I suppose I could have broken Phase IV down to "Your Cybertruck is on the way", "Your Cybertruck is at the service center, let's set up a delivery day and time.", and finally, "Delivery day".

But, I didn't.

Well, people with reservations and no reservations can't configure. People with VINs also can't configure.

Once you can configure, you can't reconfigure once you have a VIN.

Apparently there's a tiny spot when you don't yet have a VIN but can't configure, but that's usually a spot of a matter of days. Or maybe people aren't so great at reading the website. Who knows?

Does it matter? That wait between configure and VIN is mostly time when you can reconfigure and end up somewhere else in the queue.
