You can customize your WH/MI usage rates to account for the trailer - that's what I do when towing our camper with our X... (ex: SW FL to Charleston SC & back in summer of '22 - about 1100 miles round trip with our side-wanderings). Take a few test drives locally to see your WH/MI with the trailer in tow, then customize in the app. I'm sure you know, but speed kills range (drives the WH/MI up) - so a slower roll can actually help avoid so many stops. Also - plan for a 50a camp site so you can charge overnight.

Yeah, they've actually enabled "configurations" for each vehicle. Which is great for if you tow different things like a giant RV vs a boat or small trailer. What I'm looking for is routing that prioritizes trailer friendly/pull through superchargers. They currently have a "trailer friendly" charger characteristic, which has a red/yellow/green meter associated with it. But, as far as I can tell, I can't limit superchargers to those that are yellow+ for trailer friendliness.

Gotcha - that would be awesome. I've just gotten used to dropping the trailer at every stop. PITA, but you get quicker with practice...

I haven't figured out how to easily drop my weight distribution bars from my equalizer hitch. Seems like I can't get the tongue off the ball enough to reduce the pressure on the bars because the truck follows it up while I raise it.

What size is the trailer? Mine is <3500 lbs, so it's just a straight ball mount. I've taken the car/camper off-road and the concern with the WD hitch is that driving through a dip puts too much stress on overything.

9k dry. Up to 10.7 fully loaded. I'll get real weights on Friday when I take it out for the first fully loaded trip. I don't intend to do any "off roading," and being right on the weight limit for the truck makes me want the wdh. But, taking the bars off is proving very difficult in the few attempts I've made thus far.

Ahh, that makes much more sense. Even so, if you load the trailer to keep the tongue wt close to the 10% ideal, are they really necessary?

I'm fairly new to towing this kind of weight, but a good friend of mine has been doing it for decades and used to be a trucker. He swears by them. I think it's a combination of distribution and anti-sway. I've only towed a short distance at very low speeds without the bars on, so I can't comment on the difference.

Gotcha - Pop was a trucker, but he threw away the set of bars we had back in the 80s - said they were overkill for the trailers we towed back then.
