They don’t on the large windshields like MX or Cybertruck. Only Tesla

Do you have the sentry video? I'd be curious to see how large that rock was. That's a pretty big divot in your windshield and I'm guessing on any other windshield it would have completely shattered it. I had to replace my windshield 3 times in my MYLR and I was hoping the glass on the Cybertruck was strong enough so I wouldn't need to worry about that anymore. :-/

Ran through the whole sentry mode. Absolutely nothing showed on it. I hit record because the sound was so freaken loud

If you hit your horn it saves a few minutes from before and after you hit hit the horn. It’s a dash cam function not sentry mode.

That looks like a standard "bulls-eye" damage on the windshield. It may be repairable with one of the resin kits, or by a professional.

Worth a try, prior to a full windshield replacement.

Man, sorry to hear that. I have terrible luck with rock chips. We had three windshield replacements on our M3. So far, I’ve had two rock hits with the CT. Both only left a very very small pit in the glass. As loud as the bang was, I imagine it would have chipped for sure with normal glass. Like you, I was hoping that armored Glass helps.

I would definitely try the professionally applied windshield resin route before replacing.

The tough borosilicate infused windshield glass most likely prevented a crack from forming.

Repaired by safelite today with resin. The tech couldn’t believe how high up the damage was. Pretty much said no way did a rock on the road cause it.
