Hello and thank you for adding me to the forum. My delivery of CT is scheduled for this Wednesday.
So I went out to the Tesla boutique here in town and was told that it was not there, but at some storage lot. I was also told that I cannot get inside or drive it, until it is paid for in full. After some searching at the storage lot. I was able to locate my vin among 7 other trucks and this is what I saw:
I read some stories about bad build quality on the very early units but was hoping that by the time an average Joe gets one in Ohio, this would be all smoothed out.
Maybe I am expecting too much, but I cannot accept something as crooked as this and pay a $102k for it. The biggest concern is that windscreen seems to be mounted about 10mm lower than on a vehicle right next to mine. What do you think?

Front and back look like they can be adjusted. The trim piece adjacent to the windshield, don't know how they flush that one.
Be prepared, write out all issues before delivery, make the service manager sign it to accept delivery.
You were very smart and lucky to find it and evaluate before delivery day. Great job.
Would be interesting to see if they fix it before they present it to you.
Let us know how it goes.
Lastly, I am sure all here would be interested to know the approximate VIN number.
Congratulations!

Thanks for the reply.
My vin is (was) 7G2CEHED8RA011250
I am thinking of refusing it, unless local tesla body shop says they can redo the windscreen, it is obviously glued in lower than should. Their shop is only 10 min away, I can stop by and show them the video tomorrow. WTF kind of business is this anyway? This reminds me of 1983, when my dad was finally allowed to purchase a car in Soviet Union, after 4 years of waiting, we ran to the government owned bank, deposited money, got receipt and then rode bus to some storage warehouse, where we were given the ugliest color car with missing tool kit and no warranty.

Thanks for the quick reply. I know when mine is ready I am going to accept and do what I suggested you do. Don't know if I will be able to find it hidden somewhere ahead of time but that's great you did.
I beat my Acura 2005 MDX into the ground and sold it a few weeks ago. So I really need a new vehicle, not in a position to be too picky. I know a $100k plus tax is a lot of money and we all want it perfect. Tesla seems to care about its customers and is just trying to crank out as many CTs as possible I think. Perspective on the price, in 2005 I paid $45k for my mdx now a high end MDX is almost $80k. So the price, not so bad. Panels on the Cybertruck seem easy to adjust, not so easy on other vehicles.
Best of luck, let us know how it goes.

My wife grew up in communist Poland, so I totally get you on that perspective. But we do have the choice to refuse with many other options. Buying a car always sucks, never owned a trouble free car. I also live very close to a. Service center, some people say it's a 3 hour drive. That would suck.
I do own a model S from the first 10k, issues were always fixed. Door handles that would not open (broken) AC issues and other. Always fixed, still runs great after 11 years. Looks like new.

Welcome to the Tesla world where your car will likely have misaligned panels and definitely squeaks and rattles. Or you can buy a Lexus and deal with an ICE powertrain.

Thank you, I do have Model Y for 3 years now and recently got rid of Ford Lightning... so Tesla concept is not foreign to me, just the current situation.

The Cybertruck is very good about squeaks and rattles. Mine is solid and quiet as a vault inside. And I've beat it up on rugged unpaved roads for about 400 miles. Still tight as a drum.

Tesla builds a very high-quality product, but they focus on the longevity and durability, not minor aesthetic imperfections. OCD people hate that. The OP's truck is on the outside edge of what they are letting leave the factory, if he doesn't want it, someone else will. Tesla knows that, which is why they don't spend too much money getting the aesthetics perfect, they know they have to keep them affordable. Because they really crammed a ton of value into one vehicle. Yes, it's a superb vehicle, but if no one can afford them, they won't sell many of them.

I don't have my CT yet, but my Oct 2023 Model X does not meet expectations. Way rougher when accelerating than my Model 3, almost like going back to ICE. FWD creak, turning at low speeds feels like a shopping cart with a dragging front wheel. Spent 2 days driving 5 hours to fix manufacturing defects that shouldn't have been.
I wish everyone would stop making excuses for bad quality with Tesla and maybe it would finally change. It's a lottery even time you get a new one and you just hope everything is ok bc of course you don't get to pick it.

The passenger front door gap on my truck i can fit my finger into by the side mirror, the driver side door it looks like the gap is "normal" and I can't come close to putting a finger in. My truck bed is also kind of weird, its discolored with what almost looks like an oil spill (green, dark grey, a little purple). I saw one other post on here with the same complaint. At first I thought it was maybe soap left in from detailing, but I sprayed the bed with a hose and the discoloration remained. I made note of both within 5 days, which is what my delivery person said I had to do.

I could probably live with the door if there's no mechanical issue. The bed discoloration is more problematic to me. Overall, I wasn't too critical of the build.

I opened the request for some findings during the delivery and the staff open the due bill and promised to take care of them. Today tesla service sent me an estimate asking for approval of the work. Each item is estimated to charge $105, is this normal? Since I am a new Tesla owner, not sure this is just the required paperwork or indeed plan to charge me.

Could be required paperwork but I typically to message them and say why the charge the vehicle is still under warranty.

I think part of the reason Tesla sales are down is due to the sloppy assembly. I'm not looking forward to having to decide to take delivery or not of another $100k car with embarrassing assembly defects. It's almost like factory workers half ass their job and make everything a joke like the big man does.

I will be refusing delivery unless they fix everything prior to payment, or they can refund my deposit. I am not after reselling the vehicle, so I don't care if I get it asap, or ever at this point. This shit is just insulting.
