Hi, last week I got the email my FS was available to order, I put the $1,000 down and ordered it.

Don't yet have the a scheduled delivery date, but should be soon. I am only 60/40 that I should go ahead with it. Going to drive my brother's this weekend and see.
1. Has anyone gone through the process to push back their FS with Tesla, is it just a matter of sending an email?
2. Do they just keep your $1,000 deposit?
3. How long can it be pushed back, somewhere I read up to 185 days?

Any other advice would be great. I have an email into Tesla on this, and will share if I hear back.
Thanks!

Check your terms. A "Deposit" is refundable, and a "Fee" is a sunken cost.

Thank you, yes i know the $1,000 is non-refundable. My question was about pushing back the delivery date?

1) I think that pushback is basically you get pushed back to the end of the line. So maybe years
2) You made an order, a promise to Tesla.
3) see 1

Let us know on Monday how stupid you think your question was today. i.e. if you don't want it now, don't drive it. If you drive it, it will come!

I pushed my delivery and my VIN was immediately released to the next individual, so within 2 hours the truck was delivered to someone else… my estimated delivery for the second Vin I was assigned was two months. I would ignore the noise and all of the BS out there about this truck. After all, they’re not the ones paying for it, you are.

So you had 2 orders and 2 separate VINS and cancelled one of the two?

Correct, I reserved the dual and tri motor. Dual motor config was sometime in late January, received the vin in april and was set to take delivery May 17 when I canceled my appointment, which canceled my place in line. I called them back 24 hours later to reschedule after reconsidering and was assigned a new vin and took delivery sometime in early June. They will put you back at the end of the line if you straight up cancel, somehow I lucked out and received a pretty quickly

I believe that you were asked about orders, not reservations. Big difference. It appears that you had two reservations and but only one order.

You can request a "hold", which is an automatic 185-day grace period to complete your order. Your VIN is surrendered and given to the next person in line, but you don't lose "order". I requested it by text reply to the Tesla Rep when they told me my VIN was assigned and delivery would be within a few weeks. I ended up taking the order though.

@Cybertruckdoug - this ā˜is 100% correct. I have a very early reservation. I put $1000 deposit in Dec 2023. Initially my plan was to sell my two vehicles and a RV trailer before taking CT delivery, but I’m not able to sell those vehicles at a good price. So, I extended hold three times. First hold was for 60 days. Second and third hold was for 90 days. Now my hold expires on Sep 24th. You WILL NOT go back to the end of the line if you put a hold. Hold is not same as cancelling and reserving again. Some people keep getting confused on this part. Tesla has confirmed multiple times that I can remove hold anytime and take delivery within few months. Other members in the forum have done that too. You will go back to the end of the line only when you make a new reservation.

People change mind or financial situation changes. I’m glad Tesla is not holding a gun point to make you pay $100K if you put $1000 deposit. There are many people in line who want FS if you don’t need one. This might change now as Elon announced FS will end soon. Don’t be surprised if Tesla doesn’t allow you put a hold now.

It will be interesting to see if the terms change with Non-FS.

Very helpful, thank you Cyber Man! Just got the text a couple hours ago to "schedule delivery" so I will put the first hold on now. Not quite ready.
