For those of you who went though the process of buying a cyber truck... is there anything you wish you knew going into it? Any think to watchout for?

I'm leaning towards the AWD since I don't drive in a style conducive to the Beast... and like the additional range/lower weight.

I'm not sure how much of a benefit the FSD capacity included with the Foundation series is... I'm guessing the prices could potentially be higher in the future and this is a way to lock it in?

On the Powershare Home Backup.... it wouldn't make sense in the house I'm in, but I'd like it in the future... do you think they'd let me hold on to that credit?

What does "LifeTime Premium Connectivity" mean?

Anything else worth mentioning on the FS to make me feel good about the price?! lol

Thanks!

Well the voucher lasts for 1 year and if you're still in your current house by then you can always purchase the equipment and hold onto it. It says you need to be in contract with an installer atm but maybe in the future that opens up a little

I don't believe that you can purchase the equipment if you don't have an installer.

If you don't know whether you want the Beast or not, then simply, you don't need to pay the money for it. Don't get it.

FSD, lots of debates on it, There are those whose opinions would suggest the they've died a few times using FSD. But others, of which I'm one, says that it's one of the most awesome things existing and that while it is not yet complete, it is getting really close. It has actually been stressful driving the Cybertruck, because I am so used to FSD driving.

If the Powershare Home Backup doesn't work for you, then it seems that Tesla is giving a $2500 credit at this time.

There's a lot of smaller things that add up in the Foundation Series package, but if you don't want Powershare and you wouldn't pay the extra money for FSD, then it comes down to one and only one thing.

When do you want your Cybertruck?

If you just received your invite to order, it may be the end of year, next year, of even the year after when your chance to order a non-FS vehicle appears, no one knows.

Yeah the AWD is the way for me... I don't drive in a manor to ever really get advantages from the Beast.

I guess the "value" of the FSD with the FS is around $12,000.... Seems like a pretty long payout verses $100/month... I guess the idea is that the monthly price will likely rise to pay for the new AI data center being installed in Austin? So $12,000 ends up being a cheaper price since it's grandfathered in?

Good to know I have a year on the Powershare... Hopefully they'd let me extend that in the future.

Are there any issues yall have been seeing with the FS that can't be fixed with software that will probably be fixed/added in the next production run?

They are currently letting you extend it to a year, they want to install now.

Tesla makes changes to their vehicles whenever they want to. The don't wait until the "next production year" as other manufacturers do. There may be no differences between a vehicle built in July 2024 and one in February 2024, but the June 2024 could be different then the July 2024.

I can't think of anything that has really ever need "fixing" in Tesla vehicles.

In other words, the physical vehicle that you get this month, may be the same one that you get in 2 years.
But the same vehicle that you get this month won't be the same vehicle in two years, although it will be the same physical vehicle.

And I would even add, waiting for a non-optioned non-FS in 18-24 months is minimally worth it from a monthly payment standpoint (vs getting enjoyment for that time)…
It would almost be worth waiting 2,3,4 years until they dial their costs down and the AWD is like 65-70k which I think they will (crazy world events not withstanding)

It does indeed sound pretty stupid.

It is really cool seeing people drool over the Cybertruck. You get to meet a lot of people and have some great conversations.
Today at lunch, people were taking pictures of it.

While ANY EV is a great move forward, people just don't take pictures of the Ford Lightning that was designed to look just like the F-150, they are a dime a dozen.

It's an awesome chick, guy, family, fingerprint magnet! There is value in that for some.

No value in that for me... I think the truck is cool and fell in love with it, but don't really get pleasure out of owning fancy cars/etc. Not a very flashy guy.... just really like this truck, lol

I do agree.... it seems worth it...

You pay 20K more. There is real value in the FSD; maybe not 12K, but something... lets say 8K.

Then you have the additional FS addons which may amount to 2k?

So you're paying 10K to get the truck probably a year early. I'm good with that.

Initially when I was asking this question, I was thinking about the process it self of acquiring the truck as well. Sounds like that's pretty straight forward.
