Rinse off without water spots? (Easiest Foam?)

I used some Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Foam today in a foam cannon on the CT and got pretty terrible results. USER ERROR for sure... my drying was sub par and some of it dried in the sun.

For a lazy car washer like myself... is there a product I can foam on, wipe with some micro fiber cloths, and just rinse off with good results?

Looking for the easy button for someone like myself with a powerwasher.

Here's the solution I'm working on. Just about have all the parts / equipment ready to go (Waiting for CT long pole / microfiber washer for the top and windshield)...

I researched some no spot water options like the car dealers use (on a rolling cart), but they were all pretty expensive and they eventually need to have the resin recharged for more cost.

So here's my cheaper solution; we got the idea out of the blue from browsing the local Costco warehouse...I bought a Rinsekit Pro from Costco ($149 in person, $189 on their website with free shipping).

This is really made to be a vanlife or camping shower. It has a 12v battery on board that you charge from either AC or a cig lighter socket in a car, fill the 3.5g tank with water and then the built-in pump to spray water out of the attached multi-function nozzle to wash off the vehicle.

I'm going to wash my Teslas and CT as usual (rinse quick with tap water, apply car wash soap and water from a bucket with mitt to clean the car, quickly rinse off the soap with tap water, and then instead of trying to dry everything quickly before it dries itself and gets hard water spots (SoCal), I'm planning on doing a final quick rinse with the Rinsekit Pro that is filled with either distilled water or condensate water from my house central air (which I make plenty of and capture).

I think I can do the final rinse on the cars and CT pretty quick without using too much water...Then let it air dry with (hopefully) no water spots...This will save me from the frantic act of trying to dry everything fast, and as we all know, the CT is hard to reach on top and on the windshield). I have used cloth lint-free diapers to dry my cars for eons, so we'll see how this works...

I'll let you know how it goes, as I'm about to try it out on one of my cars tomorrow...

Water spots mean that the water got dirty. First step is making sure that the water is as clean as possible.

It may be possible to take a wet cloth and wipe over the panel to remove the spots and then a dry cloth to dry it back off.

Heat and doing everything at once is guaranteed to give you water spots.

Water spots occur here in SoCal because the water is very hard and has a lot of minerals in it...

i.e. that's not "clean" water.

I'm on well water and have a 6 ft tall cannister to filter it. It still doesn't come out really clean.

And car washes are notorious for recycling water and not cleaning it well.

Lot's of people add filtering and processing to soften water up.

I guess it's a matter of semantics, then, because I guarantee you that the City of San Diego would dispute a claim of their water not being clean...

I’ve been using this for a few years now. Works great, sometimes need to regular wash(electric power washer) for bugs or heavy dirt. But for most cases works great. And keeps wax jobs lasting much longer.

Oh, I'm sure they'll definitely agree with me.

Their job is safe water.

In reality, clean, mineral free water tastes terrible, but is better at water spots.

Look at the bottle isle in the grocery store for how many waters actually add things.

2024-07-01- Update:

No luck with the OPT ONR Wash & Shine... I'm thinking maybe the Meguiar's Gold stained my finish some how?

Do yall think I need to a Bar Keepers friend / Windex treatment to get back to baseline? Then maybe use OPT ONR as a maintenance clean?
