I don't think the whole edit design button not being there means anything. Disappered for me 2 weeks ago and no VIN. Lol. Got myself excited for no reason

That is weird - I was one of those who thought its disappearance meant the VIN was imminent. I think I had the button right up until I got the VIN, though.

Amazing how opaque the process is.

Also, since I'm new to Tesla, though I have a VIN and an 'inbox' in the app, I have no way to SEND a message to Tesla. I had been under the impression that, one the VIN was assigned, you'd be able to talk to the service center / delivery personnel. But I can't do that yet. Maybe when I'm closer to actual delivery....

Not sure, I’m still waiting on my VIN for a 2/20 config date with the standard CB white and AT tires. Soooooo…… I think you probably have 3 more months of waiting if you ordered a CB.

For whatever reason, the CB build rate is much slower.

That’s probably what it is. I was quoted Oct-dec. but then it seemed like production picked up or something.

I reserved a Tri-motor November 2019 RN11305XXXX, configured a Cyberbeast April 30, changed to gray interior the first day it was offered and was given delivery estimate of October to December 2024.

Then last Thursday June 27 I received a VIN in the app and a text asking me to take delivery no later than June 30. I was pleasantly surprised but since I was in Hawaii starting a week long vacation I couldn’t take delivery in time. They reassigned my VIN to someone else and put my order on hold until I got back from vacation.

My order is now reactivated but I have no idea how long it will take to get matched to another VIN. SC says it could be weeks to months and they aren’t really sure. Anyone else have experience with this scenario?

Yes. I noticed some other forum members also received their gray Cyberbeast in Houston this past weekend. Maybe one of those was my reassigned VIN.

I asked Tesla why I waited 4.5 years and they weren’t willing to wait 4.5 days… end of quarter numbers push.

I guess hindsight, but you probably could have set the delivery date, then just “had issues” and not showed up. They would have missed the end of quarter and still had the truck there when you got back.

Yeah, that may have worked. Oh well, hopefully the wait isn’t too long.
