When folks I know send me stuff (usually false or distorted) about the Cybertruck, I usually send them more fake stuff about it in return. LOL. Better that they stay dumb and not enjoy what myself and other that understand can enjoy. I can keep all the fun to myself that way. Side bonus is that if they really wish to stay dumb about things I help them when I can.

does it get hot? Is my favorite. Like… why would it get hot?
is it hot?!
I had a neighbor get out of her car while at her mailbox to chat. She left the car running and as I was standing next to it I could barely stand the immense heat her ICE engine was radianting my way. It's been so long since I've owned an ICE I completely forgot how damn hot they get, especially in the summer. Just another reason why I laugh at anyone who thinks an EV is some kind of compromise.

Every time I go to the store it takes me 10 minutes to get out of the parking lot, never fails. I always invite them to look inside and my haters vs lovers is almost 100% favorable. Like your "friend" that has to show you the hater stuff, I agree it is jealousy, envy. I had a small group 11 years ago who couldn't believe I would spend so much for an electric car when we bought our model S. Still the best car I have ever owned, now I also own the best truck... lucky us they just don't get it.

Seems like ever since I got my Cybertruck, a lot of my acquaintances suddenly have become experts about the Cybertruck. One specific friend keeps showing me threads from a subreddit called Cyberstuck and at first I asked why was he so interested in these posts when he doesn't own a Cybertruck. Then he continues to show me different posts from that thread. Now I just put a laughing emote at everything he shares. At first I didn't care but now its starting to get annoying. It's my first time owning an EV and this attention is crazy. Anyone have a similar experience like this?
You can imagine the Journey here in Oz since placing a reservation on day 1......that's a ton of opportunities for those less interested to make their thoughts known.
Well today, the dominoes began to fall.
One of my co-workers visited Tesla in Cremorne over the weekend after l shared my visit on Wednesday last week to many of the other folks here at work.
He shared his experience and told me how his first time seeing a CT felt from his 'petrol-head' background......He drives a newish Mustang, BMW diesel Coupe and a Mercedes Coupe from memory!
btw l would also classify myself in the same light, if not today, then in a past life! Perhaps even the 'past passed', but not so much the 'present passed' as l drive a 3 cylinder petrol powerhouse compact/Up!
And definitely less so or not even in the 'Future Passed'
Back to his thoughts and responses: He was blown away it seems from his reactions retracing the visit. So much so he wants to secure one for himself at all costs While there he took the opportunity to test the Model 3 and Y....so l asked which he liked? He explained the seats in the MY were more comfortable than the M3....l shared with him that as far as l am aware, they are the same units. Moving on from that, l encouraged him to not rush in with his wish to buy the MY until he test drove the Performance 3.....he tells me a friend of his has ordered the MP3.
Asking him to score the CT, 1-10 from his perspective: He answered '15'.....
That shocked and pleased me at the same time .....The DOMINOES have begun to fall.
A small group of co-workers have agreed to visit with me the Tesla Mulgrave showroom on Wednesday when the CT makes it's journey there.....did l mention those 'DOMINOES' !?!?!?!

I went yesterday to drop my kid in UCSC dorm for summer internship, and bunch of young college and high school kids walked by in awe, saying how cool my CT looks... made my day.

Proof, yet again!
Marty McFly: 'l guess you guys aren't ready for that, yet! But your kids are gonna love it.'
The 'Future Passed' may actually be real.
Here and now .....it's called CYBERTRUCK

Yep. I had the same thing. Life is full of jerks. Your job is to not let them get to you. Ignore all of it and keep a very centered approach on the things that matter to you. Ignore them. They will never in their life have 100k to spend on a truck so they trash talk it. I have lost two friends so far.
Looks like l lost one TODAY.....Life goes ON! I've said before, they can't push your buttons if you only have ON_E! ;)

I've also found that people close to me are the most vocal CT armchair experts. Some of my favorites are:
"You do know that you can't off-road or take that through a carwash, right?"
And
"Did you know that things going to be completely rusted out in year?"

Oh, here's a good one I got recently from my diesel bro cousin: "So what's your plan with that when we get hit with an EMP?"

Yes, it gets very old. I've admittedly become of a bit of a non responsive dick when responding to Internet meme facts like this.

yep. I get told "FIRST QUIT CALLING IT A TRUCK" Or,, I'm Gay. Or it's not really american, or I cannot use it. At first very upsetting but then I just use it and it proves itself. The problem is when haters scream at me driving it through town. Bend is supposedly very "open" but wow. I just LOVE that truck though.,,, its is just incredible so WGAS. !! Rock it.

It didn't help that mine died on the road by my neighborhood. I hear about it daily since it's been at Tesla Service.

My epiphany happened this weekend as I actually calculated a Durango-Moab round trip cost. Normally I run this in my diesel F350 and the cost is darned near $100 round trip. I ran it with the CT and the cost was $26.50 because I had to use a SC. If I had used all home charging, it would have been under $14. That was mind blowing to me.

Let’s just say I will rarely be running that route in my F350 anymore. I tell other folks this cost and they say “Holy sh*t… I may need to look into that”.
