I switched away from geico given the same experience everyone else has had with them where they put a huge premium on the Cybertruck. When talking to the agent when canceling they mentioned how much expensive it is to repair and only Tesla can. While true I’m wondering how many incidents that would have normally been reported don’t because of the steel. Bumps that don’t affect the panel. Or drunk people throwing glass bottles on the freeway at cars like I witnessed this morning. Etc. hopefully geico takes this into account and reconsiders their extra charge. I’m sure their actuaries can see a decrease in reports relative to others.

Geico dropped me in Georgia a month after getting the policy because “the cybertruck was added to the list of restricted vehicles”. Switched my other cars and house to progressive the same day.

Just calling and taking quotes I found GEICO’s ridiculous rates for the cybertruck. Got quotes from State Farm and switched immediately. This saves me $$ every month which I can put against the cybertruck purchase ?

I have USAA insurance on my Cybertruck. $180/month full coverage, includes towing/roadside assistance, and rental car.

We do too. For us, in Georgia, it’s $795.91 for 6 months. Which is equivalent to $132.65 a month.

We have our home insurance and umbrella insurance with them as well. I think that makes it somewhat cheaper as well.

The problem with geico, progressive and USAA is that they have 500k individual limits and the umbrellas are garbage as they are liability only.
for example, you get hit by a drunk driver and get put in the hospital. You’re limited to your 500 and the umbrella does nothing as you were not at fault to illustrate this.
Ask you agent for an umbrella that includes an endorsement for under insured or uninsured motor coverage and they will tell you that they do not have it. That’s the only thing you need to know.

I keep hearing the issues with Geico and I wonder. I have them but with their Geico Military Plan. Paying $69 a month for full coverage and higher coverage then normal too. $200k/$300k and a $250 deductible. I signed up back in late May before a lot of the complaints started to come out. Hoping they renew at my current rate because I dont know anyone getting it this cheap.
