This ceramic coating will last up to two years and can be reapplied sooner if needed. Removal can be done with a panel wipe or a 70/30 IPA solution.
Incorrect. Removal of other hydrophobic films may be performed with a panel wipe but not the ceramic coating itself.

For that you’ll need a polisher and that is precisely why you cannot use ceramic coatings on matte PPFs.

nice! Thanks for sharing. looks great! What is your experience driving on the park / free way without side mirrors, especially at highway speeds with many cars? i found it difficult and unnatural relying on the cameras at highway speeds with cars in front and the back. I have my side mirrors, but tried not to use them. I’m not ready! ?

Why would I want to remove?

Because ceramic coatings do not dissipate evenly. When you reapply, you need to flatten the prior layer—if not remove it entirely.

You won’t notice it until a couple years down the road and then you’ll realize I was right.

I have used this ceramic coating on several other vehicles that had matte/satin PPF installed on them. The reapplication process after a couple of years usually involves a decontamination wash followed by clay bar to remove any surface contaminants followed by the fresh coat of Halo coating. Works well for this application.

then you will have high spots…no way around that…it’s just physics…

You can always level out any high spots with the reapplication. With the matte/satin film, not very noticeable.

depends on the lighting and the personality…if one were meticulous like me, then they would def notice…also depends on how much the ceramic coating has been exposed to the elements…the more exposure, the less even the wear….subjective for sure but certainly not ideal…

Completely agree. Worth the risk with the ease of maintenance after application.

Given PPF already offers superior protection versus minor chips & scratches than the ceramic coating, the main thing the ceramic coating offers is increased hydrophobicity…therefore, those with matte or satin PPF who intend to own the vehicle for more than just a couple years would be better served utilizing a hydrophobic topping sans the ceramic…no need to polish it away and may be reapplied to re-energize the hydrophobicity once or twice a year without affecting the matte finish….

Correct. Most ceramic coating's on the market today are not suited for this type of PPF. If the wrong product is applied, you will add shine to the surface of your matte PPF.
