I'm sorry but this concern is unfounded. This device is on the other side of the airbag, the odds of it making contact with the driver on impact are close to 0. It may bounce around after the impact and hit the driver, but that applies to all objects inside the cabin that are not tied down.Only put things on your dash that you are willing to eat in the event of a crash.
Is it one of these adhesive peel and stick on a smooth surface? That phone holder is very nice. It rotates and pivots in any direction you would want. With the included magnets its actually difficult to remove the tablet because the hold is so strong. Its also very cheap at $12. I highly recommend it.
When/if you remove it you would only need to peel off the adhesive from the plastic trim its stuck to.
What state is it illegal to mount navigation to your dash? You might want to check your state regulations on this as it is illegal in a lot of states.
I would think it could create liability issues putting you at a disadvantage if you are involved in an accident.Don't let everyone rain on your parade. This is no more dangerous than a Model S with the nav on the main screen. It's only dangerous if you use it poorly! To many people in the world want to try to save you from yourself! Use it responsibly and you are fine. Well done sir.
Starlink makes a very small antenna that would be perfect. It can be bundled with home internet fairly cheap.Teslas don't come with a wifi router in them, so no. BUT might be an interesting mod.
What liability? They would have the responsibility to prove you were doing something other than navigation display.I would think it could create liability issues putting you at a disadvantage if you are involved in an accident.
It's illegal to be using a phone or tablet while driving in many states. Inattentive bad drivers made that happen. Increased accidents was the legitimate reason, but I strongly believe it was pissing off so many many other drivers that cost them political support. What state is it illegal to mount navigation to your dash?

That is not how liability works. No they wouldn't.
A tablet can fall under the exceptions using the law you attached.
So do not watch videos on it. Seems like common sense. Also make sure you do not go even 1mph over the posted speed limit, I believe that is also illegal.(b) Subdivision (a) does not apply to the following equipment when installed in a vehicle:
(1) A vehicle information display.
(2) A global positioning display.
(3) A mapping display.
Nope it can't. A mapping display is use specific device, as is GPS Display or instrument displayA tablet can fall under the exceptions using the law you attached.

A television receiver, video monitor, television or video screen, or any other similar means of visually displaying a television broadcast or video signal, if that equipment satisfies one of the following requirements:(A) The equipment has an interlock device that, when the motor vehicle is driven, disables the equipment for all uses except as a visual display as described in paragraphs (1) to (4), inclusive.(B) The equipment is designed, operated, and configured in a manner that prevents the driver of the motor vehicle from viewing the television broadcast or video signal while operating the vehicle in a safe and reasonable manner.
If it doesn't work for you I get it, do what works for you.If your brain can handle it, more power to you. For me, the screen is way too intrusive and distracting into the field of vision. It's like a giant heads-up display without the transparent see-through quality of one. The constant vision focus to go in and out from this to windshield will probably strain the eyes as well. From your picture, it looks to be right at the edge of lower windshield.
