I can confirm that it's meant for the DARE program only. Fun but not a legit police vehicle. :(

Please add an on-line sign up for a citizen ride-along program. I'll sign up and make the trip to Irvin from Texas just to ride this beast :geek:

I wonder if they can use it as an alternate K9 vehicle with the bed. Perhaps craft a good solution to cooling the bed area too.
A simple solution would be to just make a sliding rear window. I think they still make aftermarket kits for other trucks.

Not a pursuit vehicle.. well, not very far…

maybe this is what the range extender is for… ? when cargo is not extremely important..

I have rarely seen cop chases that lasted for more than 100-150 miles. That’s 1.5 hours of pursuit at 100 mph. CT, especially Beast, will make one hell of a badass Police pursuit vehicle. It doesn’t need 300+ range as it’ll end the pursuit in minutes. If you don’t believe, try catching BMW S1000RR on a race track. That’s the speed and acceleration that Beast has. Pursuit will be over in less than 50 miles.

Think about it - Metal body, steer by wire, superior acceleration, huge secure vault, power supply, high beam LEDs, FSD, large second row with 90 degrees door entrance, the list goes on. Tactical Vehicle Intervention will be a breeze (without FSD of course ?). The vehicle is more suited for law enforcement than ordinary people. It’s a no brainer for the police department to adopt Cybertruck! I can’t wait to see some really beefed up cop Cybertrucks. It’ll be like military tanks patrolling the urban areas. They will also be intimidating. Hope people don’t commit crimes just to sit in them ?. That’s the only downside I see!

Top speed does not kill range, on/off the accelerator and aggressive driving does… but I get you point.

I guess we shall just wait and see..

CyberTruck is quick, but is it nimble enough for the CHP obstacle course…?

some states even test them over the “sleepy policeman” (Google it if you are not familiar) and require additional reinforcement

Based on what I have heard from owners and reviewers who have tried high speed maneuverability with CT, steer by wire makes it a breeze. That combined with high acceleration makes me think it’ll definitely ace all other vehicles when it comes to CHP obstacles. I agree - let’s wait and watch to see how CT gets adopted in law enforcement. Hope they run some trial tests and share their findings.

Lame. Concepts are fun, but seeing this rolling around turns my CT into a Ford Explorer. Hopefully this truck will wind up going to auction like all the Teslas LAPD sold for pennies.

The average police pursuit lasts less than 3 miles. I think it'll be ok.
