if you can afford it it’s phenomenal. I have the AWD and wish I could have convinced my wife on the beast.
We have a Beast on order (configured on 3/9). I’d just like to drive it before handing over a check.

Where have to go to pickup your Tesla vehicles in Houston/TX if Tesla is not allowed to sell direct??
LOL Texas has laws and then Texas has workarounds to those laws. OEMs like Tesla are allowed to have unlimited showrooms (galleries) in Texas, to have service centers, to conduct test drives and deliveries in the state. The "sale" needs to happen out of state. When you order a Rivian or a Tesla etc. your paperwork is signed in Illinois or California or whatever via docusign so technically it was sold to you out of state even if the vehicle is (like CT) produced in Texas, sent directly from a factory in Texas to the delivery center in Texas and then to you, the sales transaction happens on some server outside the state. LOL

Tesla has more than a half dozen galleries/service centers / delivery locations in and around Houston.

I wonder why Tesla can’t do the same in Louisiana. I have to pickup in Pensacola Fl.

You can thank TADA (Texas Automobile Dealers Association) for the rules. TADA lobbies very heavily in TX to protect their franchised new car dealers.

"TADA represents over 1,400 franchised automobile dealerships in 290 communities throughout the state of Texas. TADA advocates on behalf of the dealers at the Texas Legislature, Congress, and all regulatory agencies"

Different laws.

If you buy in Vermont or New Hampshire, you have to go to New Jersey to pick it up.

Welcome to Tesla!

My Model 3 was ordered sight unseen.
My Model Y was seen, but definitely no chance to drive.
And the Cybertruck was sight unseen.

And not a single regret!!!

That seems to be the consensus around here.

We also have a Subaru and from the other posts about Subaru driver reactions to the truck I’m wondering if there will be an issue with the space/time continuum if they both reside in the same garage. ?

It would be much happier next to a Solterra.

But reality it that the whichever Subaru that you have will become extremely jealous!

Thanks.
I have already configured my truck and counting the days. So far it’s only day 37 so still time left. But I really want to take a drive in one. I have been to a few SC around the area looking and drooling over the truck. Would love to be able to drive it before I drop the $120k
Maybe check in with or join a local EV owners club? We have one here in Ventura County and when my wife mentioned wanting to 'test drive' one before she paid for it we found a nice gentleman that took us out, showed us all about how it works and all kinds of cool things it does and let us drive it around for about 30 minutes! MUCH better than if it was with some salesman at a car dealership just wanting to make some bucks... He's now become a friend also and that's something we can never have enough of.
