they can disable the dog mode and open the door.
There are people in an emergency situation that barely know how to open the door on a vehicle that they've driven for 10 years. People panic and common sense gets thrown out.
Just knowing that you have to disable dog mode is way beyond most people

They shouldn't be driving

Here is what should happen once you enable dog mode:
- disclaimer pops up on the screen. "This mode is NOT DESIGNED for humans to stay inside the car. All locks and windows will be secured and unable to be used. If for some reason a human is left inside the car, utilize the emergency door release"
- *animation showing where and how to use release* "Must click accept to agree"
- "Please exit the vehicle within 30 seconds and then dog mode will be enabled" *Countdown timer displayed on screen with the option to disable dog mode*
- Dog mode is enabled with a button on the screen to disable if necessary... for the ignorant folks that still decide to hang out in the vehicle, despite all the warnings

Again, if that is too complicated in the fog of war, then I really feel bad for the human race.

I am an Emergency Manager by trade, and I am used to dumbing things down to the lowest denominator to prepare for emergencies, and what I explained should suffice and by the looks of it, there is not any legal laws about disabling that electronic button, as there is still a very easy way to open the doors.

Blind passengers? Illiterate? non-English?

As an Emergency Manager, you definitely failed at every accessibility rule!

What if the dog paws at the screen? And hits the disable button?

My dogs love leaning on the doors and have never pawed at any digital screen of any type.

And far as responding to the other stuff (blind, illiterate, non English), I don't want this debate to go back and forth with you. We clearly know what side you are on, as well as what my side is.

First road trip with two dogs in the back. They are well trained and will pretty much stay in the back. They were riding the the rear of the cabin and the seats were folded up.

We stopped to charge, put it in dog mode, and when walking back, my wife noticed that the door was slightly ajar. Well that's odd. We did not even get a notice on the app. We re-closed it and were on our way. It happened again at the next charger. This time it was not just slightly ajar, it was a couple of inches open. I started wondering if something was wrong with the door? It happened a third time before the trip was over.

At one point we got back to the truck and were sitting parked for a few minutes. I heard the rear window roll down. All the way down. I was like WTF? I looked back and saw that my dog had put his paws up on the door to get a better look at something happening outside. He fully opened the window. I suddenly realized how the door was getting opened.

This is a legit problem and someones dogs will end up killed on a highway if it is not resolved. Tesla really does not want that news story.

For now, I am ordering a pet seat cover with separate door cover pieces. I only intend to use the door cover pieces, but my hope is that this will keep the dog paws off of the door controls.
