Install 2024.26.3.1 or wait for FSD 12.5.x?

I've been anxiously waiting for FSD for my CT. I'd seen the release of the "Summer Update" a couple of weeks ago before all the FSD 12.5 hype. The fact that I hadn't received anything and am running 2024.20.9 and FSD 12.5.1 is 2024.20.15 made me hopeful that they were holding off on updates for me and then next one would be this big FSD for Cybertruck update.

Today, I got the update for 2024.26.3.1. I love updates and want the new stuff but would you do it? I hate to be ahead of the FSD branch. On the other hand, Tesla has to know that every single CT out there is waiting on FSD so maybe the one for us will be on the .26 branch?

Thanks. I think I'll probably install it. I don't think Tesla would push that to Chucks truck so that he's unable to validate FSD as soon as it's available. I'm thinking it will probably come on this branch for CT instead.

Also, i cant imagine Tesla is going to fudge around making people strategize on what software to get or not get when they finally push FSD to the CT.

How do they push these updates out? Guessing a mix between location and Vin number? Honestly have no clue. I’m chillin on 20.9 for a minute though with no option to update

took the plunge and updated, FSD's comming one way or another...waited years for a useful version on my M3P, can wait a bit more....and given we really have no idea of their plans....

What yall are missing is that I suspect with over 95% probability, that you are running FSD in shadow mode on the backup computer.
I'd just about guarantee it on 2024.20.9. I've got it on my Model 3 and it absolutely has FSD and I use it. Same release as the Cybertruck.

I’m installing it. I make FSD videos in my free time (3 performance and Y LR) and I want FSD in my truck more than anything, but updated cybertruck is worth it while I wait.

You're not going to be locked out of FSD updating. I'm not aware of any update in Tesla history in any vehicle that has locked anyone out of new features when they come out.

I agree. now if we all drive our trucks extra this weekend maybe that'll give them enough validation data to enable the feature. so let's get out there and drive! lol

Looks like 2024.26.3.1 got pulled. It's not showing as an update for me any longer. I'd like to think it's because a 2024.20.X variant with 12.5.X is around the corner. But I am guessing that's just wishful thinking. Probably they found issues in 2024.26 and pulled it. ?‍
