I am not a facepalm person. Yet I heard about the local group in town making fun of the truck.

Then as I visited the local watering hole. I was shared the information. What I found lovely is how the people that know me stuck up for me. They talked about how I volunteer and how great of a community member I was. First to help, last to leave, and always buys me a beer one said. Makes ya know you are loved, and hated. I still think the concept of Facebook creates more problems than it solves.

Best was. It's the person dummy, not the car or truck they drive.

Small town. We all know each other. I still hug all the assholes in life. Just shower after.

A neighbor sent me this about another neighbor bad-mouthing me.
The CT envy is real. I've never seen so many people triggered by a car. This is my backyard neighbor, after she continually insisted I just level her backyard with my pool dirt, which would flood my backyard (of course she refused to understand). I don't know if it's pool envy, but it sure sounds like CT envy, no?

One thing I have found is that any of my 'friends' that bag on my because I drive an EV, I just take them out for a 'test drive'... So far, out of 8 of them, 7 were like 'Wow, I didn't know' I also give them the stats (PRINTED) about how much SAFER (LESS fires) they are, how range doesn't really matter for 90% of the people (who average less than 50 miles a day anyway).

I've even taken them to a SuperCharger to show them how EASY it is to 'fill up' and how WE can kick back and play Backgammon or CARaoke while charging for 10 minutes... One of them was even like "Can we just move the car and keep playing?" hehe... Another person commented (after driving past the local 'super cheapy' station with a line of cars) right after we charged up "And you didn't even have to wait in line like WE all do here (at Silva's gas)!" Of course I always explain "But I don't use SuperChargers except when I am on trips. I 'fill up' at home where it's FREE (I have solar). And that saves me about $300 per month."

It's all about educating them... After all, they've been getting the WRONG education by the media and the haters...

I've even started saving links in the browser to several stories to 'debunk' things when someone might bring it up...

Oh, and #8?? Well, not going to waste much time or energy on him anymore... Heck, he thinks I have turned into an environmentalist or something because I bought an EV and Solar!! Tried explaining it's all about saving MONEY, but he's just entrenched so deeply that he even refused to 'take over' and drive it himself when I offered... so.... SEE YA!!

Now I am not saying they are all going to get EVs, but at least they aren't hating on them anymore... (one IS going to get one though!)

All this is with my Model Y... Can't wait to see/hear the haters when we get the CT... hehe...

I wasn't ready for the neighborhood envy. I thought I've been living under the radar, but I guess not. I've owned Tesla's since 2018 and there's only about 5 or 6 Tesla's in my hood of 400+. There should be 5 or 6 new ones added each year, but I guess the neighbors are mostly luddites.
