If your on advanced it should have rolled out last night.
Yeah still pretty buggy. I'll have to try it today in the light and see if that makes a difference but in the dark it definitely will need a lot of work before its FSD ready.
I guess on the positive note it is a step towards getting FSD ready for the cybertruck.
It has nothing to do with FSD. It's still inaccurate on all other vehicles and they run FSD.

Maybe it's because the CT is my first Tesla, but I don't understand how a car company rolling out update after update is being dragged so mercilessly by the people who are benefitting from it. I've received three or four updates for my new Cybertruck in the less than a month I've owned it. And some updates have been significant. That would never in a million years happen with any other car.

I updated my CT with the latest update, and I immediately liked what they've done. I've been doing this for only a month and I can see how Tesla rolls stuff out and then refines it. It is so obvious to me that they are going to keep refining how the parking assist works. I can't imagine seeing this new feature and then getting all bothered about it not being pure perfection on the initial release.

You all might want to try taking a step back from the edge.

I downloaded the park assist.
what a disappointing update.
very buggy.. screaming and chiming STOP when it’s not even close to another car, post, tree, etc.

hoping future update fixes the bugs…. SOON!
I, too, am disappointed in the accuracy. Hopefully that will improve. However, I *do* think it is useful - even in it's present form. I had a hard time getting perfectly aligned in the parking space before. I could get close lining up the rear camera with the curb but was always at least a little crooked in the space. This visualization gives a nice birds-eye view with the space clearly outlined making it easy to line up the truck.

Are you new to Tesla, because it sounds like you do a lot of complaining when things aren’t what you expect. Tesla is an engineering company. This first release will be followed by others where it will incrementally get better. Teaser alert, FSD will be the same.

Not true. The way Tesla releases software is the same; incremental improvements. The question I would ask is: is it safe. If it provides a look into some functionality and is safe then all is good.

I have experienced good releases and weak ones….
ready for next update… hoping the refinery team kills some bugs and improves the system.

FWIW, I did a test on my MS with 12.5 (2024.26.20) vs. the CT.

I didn't record anything, but I may in the future. These were my results for the "STOP" warning:

Back in:
CT- 6" from wall
MS- 5 1/2" from wall

Front:

CT: 36" from wall
MS- 28" from wall

On the front end, if I move the vehicle through the "STOP" and place the front of the vehicle to the object/line/wall it was closer:

CT: 4" from wall
MS: 3 1/2" from wall

Edit: It does appear to vary based on lighting conditions as well.

Also, the distances seem to vary based on individual car (maybe camera calibration?) from looking at other YT comparisons.

What did I say that isn't true?

The vision park assist isn't as accurate on any Tesla platform as the USS after multiple releases. It's not preventing those other vehicles from using FSD.

I never challenged what you said wrt accuracy. In fact, I am certain that you are correct.

And what did I say that isn't true? You are talking about accuracy and I am talking about a release process. They are related but not the same. The release process will produce better accuracy over time. If you are the kind of person that expects perfection on the first release then you are going to live a very disappointed life, and not just with Tesla.

I'm saying that Vision Park Assist has been out over a year and it's barely better that the initial release on the CT.

You said "Not True" to my reply that the Park Assist not being accurate is preventing FSD deployment. I said it is not because other vehicles are about the same accuracy and are running FSD.

I never said it wouldn't get better, but my push back is that it's just off for the CT. It's off for all Tesla vehicles, it's obviously still a work in progress.

I agree with you, it chimes and beeps all the time when I'm feet away. But its a step in the right direction. We are toddlers taking our first steps right now and it will get better i'm sure.

It chimes early enough that if you are moving at 1-2 MPH you (probably) won't hit.
If you are creeping along, it's wary.

I am on Advanced and always get the updates at a minimum several days after the first report on here. Having that setting switched on doesn't get you updates at the same time as everyone else.
