I’ve owned many vehicles. Including but not limited to:

2016 Dodge RAM 3500 dually limited Crew Cab 8’ bed.
2012 Dodge RAM 3500 dually limited Crew Cab 8’ bed
2010 Porsche Spyder - love it. It’s a keeper
2006 BMW M6 convertible - very luxurious but too heavy
2002 BMW M3 convertible - loved it only because we were getting the M6. Should have kept this one.
BMW X5
Mercedes S class AMG
FORD 350 dually - not impressed. Always struggled pulling our trailer and turbo V8 was very loud.
Chevrolet Silverado 2500 - great truck and diesel got upper 20 mpg on freeway. RAM’s lucky to get 15.

Haven’t found a truck yet that I prefer over the RAM. We pull a 27 foot gooseneck horse trailer loaded with horses and the Cummings diesel just pulls like it’s nothing. Quiet, comfortable and nicely appointed for a truck. Wasn’t expecting the CT to replace this but rather use it for more routine truck duty around our ranch. The Cybertruck is definitely smoother and quieter but as far as a truck it’s in a different class than the RAM.

I got a vin so I went to schedule my delivery in the appt but it wouldn’t let me so I called. I was told my truck was in transit and wouldn’t arrive at my location until the 1st. I think asked if I could schedule my delivery date for the 1st and I was told no because there was no guarantee the truck would arrive to them on that date so when the truck arrived and they inspected it then they would reach out to me to schedule a delivery date.

Maybe I’m just used to the traditional way of buying a vehicle but with this being my first Tesla from all the different stories I’ve read it doesn’t seem like they have a set in stone business model
For your information this is very similar to how other car companies handle incoming vehicles. I ordered a BMW X5 once and they kept saying it would be in tomorrow, then it wouldn't arrive and it would be tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. Finally after about a week it came in and then they needed 1-2 days for pre delivery inspection. When my CT arrived I was able to get it the next day after they inspected it.

Man stop it, no it isn’t how other car companies handle ordering a new vehicle. I could one up you and name off the list of new vehicles I have bought that have been night and day a better buying experience than the one currently dealing with at Tesla . The point is , yes the transit situation could be similar but that has nothing to do with the car manufacturer, for the most part this entire process has been word of mouth and not by the Tesla dealership.

I could go on and on but I won’t take the OP thread off track anymore.

Other car companies have dealers. Dealers get inventory allocations. They then trade inventory among each other to get their buyer what they want. A much worse process if you ask me.

Just test drove a AWD CT.
Space is much smaller than the gen 3 raptor we owned.
Acceleration, don’t hate, felt kinda weak but this is compared to the R1S quad we just sold and our M3P.
Amazing steering.
Super comfortable - more than Raptor, light years ahead of Rivian,
Drives like a car both in terms of impression and maneuverability.
Silent.
Great stereo.
Not willing to pay for founders edition but might look at CB when prices go down.
(Tesla should probably keep their test vehicle clean. I could barely see out of the windshield and interior was pretty dirty as well)

Decided to pass. They literally notified me today on a holiday weekend. Pickup was automatically scheduled for tomorrow at 7:00 pm which wasn’t working for me. Pickup location is Riverside California. Hope someone enjoys it.
Same thing happened to Me ---- It's the end of the month and Tesla wants the revenue. The called me three times begging me to come get it today.

Passing all together for now. It’s on hold until March 2025 or until I release the hold. I recently did a test drive in Buena Park which left me underwhelmed at the price so I was planning on passing anyway. Just wasn’t expecting it to pop up so fast on a holiday weekend with only one day to pick it up. Im wondering if maybe it was someone else and they passed.

I’m sure it’s an awesome vehicle but not the fit and finish I’m accustomed to when spending $130,000 on a vehicle. Maybe it’s because it was a test vehicle but panel gaps were really bad, tonneau cover rubber seal was torn and hanging loose, white interior panels look like a bad case of cellulite and plastic bits everywhere just felt cheap. On the bright side, steer by wire was awesome, ride quality was excellent and interior was very quiet. At least compared to my Ram 3500 dually. When the non FS models become available at a more reasonable price I may reconsider. To be honest the whole Tesla experience has left a lot to be desired. I’ve never own a Tesla before so the lack of communication was a surprise to me. Also annoyed that I placed my order Dec 2023 (RN112…) and didn’t get a vehicle until now. Don’t feel like paying a premium for FS is worth it anymore.
Lol

Yes. They did offer to reschedule but only within the next 7 days. Unfortunately, that didn’t work. I’m on night call for the next week starting Monday. I did ask if we could reschedule for 8 days out when I’m off. They said no. 7 days out is the max they would hold it. If they would have worked with me on this, I probably would be getting it. But because they wouldn’t and I was leaning toward passing anyway, I wasn’t too upset and let it go. The farthest out I could pause was March 2025. They did say I‘m allowed up to 5 holds.
So let’s just be honest you were not going to buy it on a regular weekend on lint on pass over on the grand opening of the coffee shop on my corner or any other week?

Cool
Bro so um why you here ? If you thought a CT was going to be like a ram/Chevy or any of the rest your bad .. I have a Chevy 2500HD that handles things and I have a CT that handles other things . It was pretty clear before ordering that they are very different and wasn’t rocket science to figure that one out. But thanks for your auto history ?

Not sure why people think anyone on an owner forum cares in the slightest about someone deciding not to be an owner.
Not sure why anyone would kick it or hang out and comment in a forum where they are not interested in buying the truck that the forum is about? I’m not in a ford forum saying I don’t want a raptor so ummm … Just saying
