Having it closer to the eye line would be more ergonomic. That's a decent argument to make.

I do think it's fine where it is (that's where it is on my 2013 Mazda 3) but I still usually use my physical mirror. And it's cheaper to use one screen.

Screens being cheap, though, it does seem like a spot for an aftermarket solution. A good, high-rez 30º camera on the tailgate or tonneau trim and then a digital mirror would be pretty cool.

Maybe a wireless one with a charging pad it was stuck to normally that you could then stick onto a trailer...

There's lots of options, but it's probably more an aftermarket item. Like I said, what works and is cheap is not always what is most ergonomic.

What would really be nice is for Tesla to crop the image and enlarge it a bit, so that the field of view would be more like that of a traditional rear view mirror. Have it jump to wide view for lane changing, etc. The perspective you get with the current rear view camera makes the cars behind you seem way to far back.

Cool. How about splitting it laterally across the middle and add a small snap hinge or three?
I think that would make it too difficult to roll up. Manipulating that big thing to just get it into place is a bit of a challenge.

I think that you must not yet have your Cybertruck when you made this statement. The video in the screen works flawlessly and is in your line of sight as you drive. A screen where the rear view mirror is, would require you to look up and away from the road. The video on the screen right where Tesla put is it way better than where the rear view mirror is.
I agree, I am used to it now and it is nice. Not sure about driving in heavy rain/snow.

What I would like to see is the Homelink option. It came standard on my Sig Series Model S, and my wife's 2018 Model 3. It's really nice to have it open the driveway gate automatically (and in the case of the cars, the garage doors). Waiting to have the module installed on my wife's new Model Y.

Yeah, this sunscreen thing is going to be a problem. Love the truck though.

Yeah, but cutting the image would just result in blurry. It needs to devote more pixels to the distance.

There's advantages and disadvantages to fish-eye views.

How about an LED light bar in the front grill under front license plate.

1. a Higher mounted 180 degree wide angle camera facing backwards so that you can see above and around when towing. This is also necessary if having something in the bed with the tailgate down.
2. replacement tailgate plastic that runs along the top and along the inside of the tailgate at the top. This should be metal it is the highest wear location for when getting things in and out of the bed, it gets tore up and is a pathetic design it should be rigid/strong A/F.
3. telescoping bars that go across the top of the bed or can be rotated to go 45 degrees along the side of the bed with a quick release on one side so that they don't have to be removed to install items in the bed that are larger.
4. mudflaps that are similar shape to stock but will bend and not break when running over big rocks/stumps.
5. built in cooler and garbage can holder that fits in the large empty wasted space under the control screen, in front of the center console.
6. more, and better L Track accessories
7. the battery extender should be thin and stack right on top of the existing bed instead of taking up a 3rd of the bed towards the window if it isn't going to be removable. It could have a cutout for the under vault storage, or be hinged and add some beefier shocks to lift the added weight of the under storage lid.
8. A bed extension that is either used for storage or turning the 6ft bed into an 8ft bed. it could roll out for ease of loading/ unloading or extend for longer items.

Now that we have our Cybertrucks (more owners every day) what new accessories and updates would you like to see?
I think an electric snowblower mounted to the front would be awesome for deep snow winters ! I mean my dad's old Sears lawnmower had that attachment back in the 70's. Let's update that design and make this truck a snowblowing machine! No plow necessary.

I would love to see Tesla sell a wifi camera that can be mounted anywhere and accessed on screen along with the fixed cameras. Can be used to monitor the contents of the bed or stuck on the back of a trailer, or on the tailgate when it is down, etc. When we are driving, the wifi isn't being used for anything else so why not.

I had my tonneau cover replaced, and it still leaks like a sieve up at the top. I think I'm just going to recalibrate it so the first tonneau slat stays 1/2" under the aeroflap, but it got me thinking - why doesn't somebody make an aeroflap that overhangs the tonneau cover by an inch or so?

This is a pic taken from the side of my truck. The purple outlined thing is the aeroflap, and you can see the gap with the holes outlined in yellow. I've found if I open the cover a half inch to push that gap under the aeroflap, less water gets in. An aeroflap that had some some extending rubber weatherseal or something seems useful here. At least until Tesla revisits this design.

Pardon my artwork. :)
