I’m a lawyer and a law profess
No, you're a bloviator on a forum. Notice you don't actually give us information to track down your bar association.

And a law degree isn't a gauge of whether someone is able to give good advice. That's why lawyers sometimes go to jail.

Your advice, is bad. Your concept of what authority is, is bad. You may get thumbs up for giving bad legal advice online, but that's also no way to gauge if your advice isn't bad.

No. Firstly, because I haven’t breached any contracts and ...

That's just bad advice. Like I said. And it's legal advice, which you shouldn't just give out online.

Notice how your citations don't support your assertion.

Also notice how you edited my post to change its meaning. And came back to whine a second time.

So yeah...

I have never claimed to be an expert in anything. But I know what can get you in legal trouble with a retail operation. Pretending your employees can say one thing while your contracts say another is definitely one of them.

Uh huh. You can give me personally identifying information and I will send you mine. In the meantime, all you need to do is to verify the veracity of every word I’ve said - which isn’t hard.

Presumably, if you had found flaws (despite being completely unqualified to do so), you would be pointing them out instead of doing this pathetic ad hominem bullshit. I’m paid to litigate against well-trained, well reasoned, competent counsel and to train brilliant young legal scholars. I’m not sure what it is that you think that you’re doing here flailing about in my general direction.

It’s only “bloviating” because you can’t rebut a SINGLE SOLITARY POINT I’VE MADE. The typical oh you’re not a good lawyer bullshit that every online butt-hurt crank tries.

“You may get thumbs up for giving bad legal advice online, but that's also no way to gauge if your advice isn't bad.”

True. The best way to gauge it is by the 100 person law firm that I built, standing in my community, and the unassailable accuracy and value of my counsel and advice which is evidenced by the caliber of my clients and the market share that I hold.

You needn’t worry about me sweetie, my acumen (or lack thereof) is self evident. I certainly don’t worry about how you’re getting along at being an armchair expert at every subject you wander into on this forum. ????

Find a lawyer. Show them what I have said here, and maybe they can help you digest it. I have less than nothing to prove to you and I’ve reached my quota of dealing with your particular kind of stupid.

<CLICK> That’s you being ignored. ??

But businesses are not bound by verbal or written changes/promises by an employee that are in conflict with a written agreement.
What did I say?

Oh, I said, 'liability isn't binary'. It's not either or. It's maybe none, maybe some, maybe alot. Both/and.

The business is liable for what their employees do. But context matters. If they make promises the company can't, or never intended to keep, well, that's not great for the company. It could be anywhere from 'it was obvious the employee couldn't promise that' all the way to 'oh shit, someone recorded a manager or lawyer telling employees to lie to customers'.

i was just told today by a Tesla rep that the wait time for a VIN is about 2 days.
Was this the same rep that told you he could hold your order until the end of the year? :ROFLMAO:

You people must all be from CA and have nothing to do.
I thought this group would communicate about something important.
Do you think Tesla cares about a a petition signed be a bunch of people who want to buy “ dudads” for their Cybertruck?
Move on.

There is zero inventory. None. Not a single one. That's why when the Pacific Union Railyard Auto Distribution Center in Mira Loma Jurupa Valley "loses" your car you are SOL. After waiting a month for them to find your car only to be told it's gone you will have to wait another month for Tesla to build you another one.
Dude, misplaced inventory is still inventory. So is inventory that's moving from one location to another.

These are just basic accounting terms.

This is how we got the Foundation Series, so it's not without precedent.

There are quite a few people on this thread indicating that others complaining about this topic have no right to do so and that this is a dead issue. Maybe for those who already have their Cybertruck, that may be the case. For many of us who have waited years to order, put a lot of time and effort into arranging financing and funds to purchase at a much higher price than was originally promised, and now lose our place in line for the Foundation Series we saved up for, only to be further insulted by losing the deposit as well, definitely have a reason feel upset and somewhat betrayed byTesla.

I have never owned a Tesla before, and not only have I spent a ton of effort getting my funds in order to purchase a Foundation Series Cybertruck, I also spent a lot of time and money to build a business around it because I believed in Tesla and felt it was doing the right things.

If Tesla cancels my Foundation Series Cyberbeast order because it can't wait a few more weeks to get the full payment of $120K from me, I guess Tesla thinks the immediate $1000 payoff is a better short-term deal. They'll lose the extra $19K I would be paying this year versus next, all to save a grand.

I'm glad I don't run my business that way!

Btw, I called to have this escalated to corporate. I’ll let you know if they call back. I haven’t found a working email for Tesla, but let me know if you have one. I’ll email them too.
Try some common business email addresses. Small chance you can get a response.

I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news, your hold will be taken off in the next 1-2 weeks. The same thing happened to me.
It's been on hold for a few months now, but I guess we'll see. I made a backup reservation during the final unveil. So wouldn't be a total disaster I think. Maybe they can even transfer it to that one haha. Never know!

You took a gamble and lost. Next time make sure you have the funds first.

For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it, lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?

It's remarkable how wrong you are on everything you say. Just do everyone a favor and leave the thread. @CybertruckCovers is exactly correct. Tesla removed my hold without my consent and just a few days later the VIN came for the Cyberbeast. At most VINs are 4

That’s a great idea. I was actually thinking the same.

Not sure how I've lost anything. I would end up saving $19,000 and I still get a Cybertruck with improved features next year, and that's if Tesla actually goes through with cancelling my order, which has not happened yet. I still have my business, too.

Someone may have already mentioned this, but If Tesla was allowing holds and now is not, that makes me think FS is about over. Im still very curious to the percent of reservation holders that will actually take delivery. A lot of people were guessing 90%. My guess is closer to 50%. Maybe less. My reservation was in mid-2021. Im hoping for delivery sometime in 2025 or early 2026 . ?
