Half a billion in revenue in a month on a new product. Not bad.

Not surprised either. There is some overlap on buyer pools with traditional trucks, but not as much as most think.

This is probably taking market share away from larger SUVs, some trucks, and maybe even some cannibalization of model Y, etc.
Half a billion! That’s just stupid crazy numbers. So they have sold about $2 billion dollars worth of cyber trucks?

Why is Ford cutting Lightning production today.
Ford's ground up version MIGHT MAYBE be avail until 3 years from now.
They announced it it jan, not today. Lighting platform is what 4 years now? about the time when ford starts revamping.

Lightning is deem to fail because it literally compete with its own full F150 lineups. I would rather buy raptor than lightning. CT is more to take large chuck of share from SUV/crossover market.

Q1 2024: Ford's electric vehicle unit reported a loss of $132,000 per vehicle for the first quarter of 2024, or $1.3 billion total.

Self driving when it comes! Tesla had no problem cashing our checks and GM already had it out… what’s the problem? JJ
The problem is you don't understand the Cybertruck Purchase and Sale Agreement you signed. Nor do you understand the difference betweeen Tesla FSD and GM's Supercruise.

Too bad they can't sell them for $200K each, they might break even!

I wonder how Tesla overall sales relate to the overall auto industry. All I hear is that traditional dealerships have an abundance of cars sitting on lots… but that can be the same sensationalized garbage that people hear about Cybertruck, for example, and take it at face value.
This is tracked pretty closely in the auto industry, the metric you want to look at is how many days of inventory are on-hand. Even when Tesla had over a year of backorders on their most popular models, they still had something like 16 days worth of inventory on hand (because that's how long it takes, on average, to get a car to the buyer). If your global production is 2 million annually, 16 days of inventory might be 85,000 cars. Tesla generally has a dramatically lower days of inventory vs. the rest of the industry, even when they are having trouble moving increasing production due to economic conditions. It costs a lot of money to own all those cars.

Legacy auto manufacturers pawn their cars off onto independent dealerships (who take out loans to pay the manufacturer before they sell the cars). New car buyers end up paying for all that inefficiency. The more days of inventory, the more it costs per car.

That's why Ford already scaled back EV truck manufacturing plans. EV truck sales cut into their most profitable sales, ICE trucks and large SUVs.

this is just the beginning: post Foundation Series, Mid size Cybertruck etc. I am waiting for a mid size but I'm always happy as an T$LA investor(not Gambler) to see parking lots packed with Cybertruck.

Pretty impressive for a 100k vehicle.

I'm seeing lots on them on the road here now.
